I don't see much parking either. But a lot of people on X say there is plenty of parking somewhere near there.

I really hate the idea of paying arse loads of money for a “stadium experience”. I am there to watch a game.

This is why I always thought Jerry World was so stupid. I am going to watch a football game that is it. I hate the trend.

I am absolutely with you in spirit, it's why I upvoted your post, but the reality in 2024 is that sports leagues, including the NCAA, do not see the core "I'm just there to watch a game" audience as ripe for further growth, they think all those people who are going to watch are watching right now, and in fact are eventually going to die out, and they want all these bells and whistles to attract new eyes to fuel the constant growth, onward and upward, that they desire. It is what it is.

I stayed at the crowne plaza not far from there late last year. There’s no way there’s enough parking.

We went to T Mobile Center a long time ago. We parked at some garage somewhere nearby.

That may be true. But it's still a decent chunk of money for someone with 2 years of MLB experience.

The cost of going to games in the old stadiums probably wouldn't be any less than what it is now. Every time I went to Kaufman Stadium, parking and concessions still were fairly expensive.

Yea there’s garages I just don’t see how there’s enough. Idk. I guess if they can make the big 12 title work this should be fine. Just seems tight

Prediction: After it's clear there isn't enough parking they'll put up another bond issue to be passed to build additional parking/streetcars.

I am good with it. I like the park idea over the highway. If they are paying for that as part of the tax piece then that’s not terrible for the community.

People whining about parking are just being silly. Street car is free. Or walk your fat asses a few blocks.

It's a legit concern, though I'd wish more cities pushed transit expansion (as great as Truist is, having a MARTA station there would make it even better).

Look at the Royals piggybacking off the Chiefs success. Trying to sneak a new stadium in lol.

I've heard on radio around here that theres some that think the chiefs are forcing this a bit so they can have the truman sports complex to themselves. I think John Sherman has wanted this for a while as well though.

KC such a crap city. I went to a royals game there a decade back, stadium was in a really weird location, it was dead nearby. Outside of Chicago, all the midwestern cities are just really boring places. KC is no exception.

I feel the exact opposite. KC is very nice with plenty of things to do in the downtown area. One of the nicer and cleaner bigger cities in the US in my experience but still plenty going on
