That's an even money bet, but not for the reasons they want. How many monied northeastern families are going to continue sending their kids to the crime wave that is New Orleans?
Unless they triple campus security or build a wall around the place.

I can’t explain why, but crime doesn’t seem to affect enrollment.
Two or three years ago it got bad around campus with some crap with houses being broken into and maybe even a few rapes

Whatever Tulane pays this person, it is a complete waste of money. Climate adaptation expert, waste of money

He's probably correct
But not because of climate change. It'll be because New Orleans is turning into a dystopian nightmare of a town run by criminals. Nobody is going to want to go to school there.

Unlike most people that post on this board that know the daily filth, the city remains flush with out of town tourists.
Amazing watching people just casually stroll through the depths of central city too.

I thought this was going to be some woke shite about them being named after a slave owner.
I wouldn't mind that. Because that would mean defaulting back to the original name.

I went to Tulane in the 80's, biology professor claimed Baton Rouge wouldn't have drinking water by the year 2000. She also said you wouldn't be able to shower either. ACID RAIN
Bitch laughed at me when I objected.

This guy is all over the place. He’s been on tv and doing interviews about the evils of petroleum and carbon energy. He even went so far as to say that universities that took money from petroleum companies need to return it. He ignores the fact that tulane has and does take millions from petroleum companies and those assisted with petroleum companies.

It was under water. They had fish in the old union. Good times.

I thought this is where this thread was going too. Hasn't there already been a call to remove Tulane's name from the university? I don't think he was a slave owner but he definitely was on the Confederate side. From Wikipedia: "During the American Civil War, Tulane was the largest donor in New Orleans to the Confederate States of America, but the historian John D. Winters in Civil War in Louisiana (1963) does not provide the amount Tulane contributed. He donated $300 (1874 value) to erect a Confederate monument in Greenwood Cemetery. Tulane has been described as one of the most generous contributors to the Ladies' Benevolent Association of Louisiana, an institution dedicated to producing Confederate monuments." It's only a matter of time before the name has to geaux

WTF is a "climate adaptation expert", and what body certifies one as such?
Quite frankly, I might be a climate adaptation expert myself. When I'm in a rainy climate I make sure to bring a raincoat and/or umbrella. Warm and sunny? sunglasses! Cold? I adapt by wearing a sweater.
I'm benevolent though, and don't just horde my expertise. Recently I traveled to California where the climate there generally features cooler nights. I told my kids "you might want to pack a sweatshirt". I didn't have to do it. But when the good lord reaching down and blesses you with such expertise you feel it is a moral obligation to share it with your fellow man.

If they move it to NJ, most of the current student body will be able to commute daily.
