glad the company was able to set the record straight and charter captains are a small group who communicate with each other so i bet that guy has trouble getting another charter boat to ever take them out again, especially after trying to hurt the business for a situation the customer caused to happen

I never have agreed with you until now??
Didn’t watch vid, have dealt with enough Sports to know he had enough and lost it.
Repeating yourself all day for nothing gets old and the guy who would stab a captain with a knife is FOS.
2Conchs will bring him back after this dies down.

It sure does, but there are parts of every job that get very old. 90% of charter fishing is dealing with people who are inexperienced/ignorant who are trying to relax while they're not at work. They generally aren't interested in you telling them what to do or what not to do. If your response to repeating yourself all day and people not listening is to react like this guy did, you need to find a new line of work.

I am not a charter guide, but I take a lot of people fishing that are never on boats and it can be insanely frustrating. However, this guy is supposed to a professional and losing your sh_t like that is unacceptable. He should have made his point and then let it go, or just take them in if he didn;t feel safe. Acting like that in front of kids is embarrassing.
And for the charter company to apologize, but "here is back story" is what is wrong with this world today. Sometimes its ok to say "hey, I should not have acted like that and I apologize"

I can see blame on both ends, but the captain should have never allowed this to happen. If a customer isn't following your directions and it puts people's safety at risk, you end the trip and the customer doesn't get a refund. I realize kids were present, but safety has to override everything else.

You talk to a man like that in front of his wife and kids you are going to feel his wrath

I would have stayed calm cool and collected while on boat. Once on land I would have done everything in my power to ruin his life.

Petty? Don’t care. You don’t treat a man or a human being like that in front of women and children. And if you have an inkling to defend the captain because the guy fricked up on board, you need to reevaluate some things. Captain 100% had the option to head back to shore if he felt the charter couldn’t operate safely

Quite possible. But at least my boys wouldn’t have seen some hothead douchebag emasculate me in front of them.

Just weird that the douche would tip the captain $200 yet still post the video and get cancel culture after him

I went and looked at their website to see what they say about tipping.
https://twoconchs.com/policies/

Since we are in the service industry you are not required to pay the sales tax on the charter but a minimum 20% Gratuity is required for the Captain and should be paid directly to them and it may be added to the charter by the same credit card on file.

That may explain the tip.

They also have something on their FAQ page that says:
How much do we tip the Captain? 20% is customary and may be added to the credit card on file. Tipping the captain the 20% directly is standard and they accept cash, credit card, Venmo or Cash App typically.

Nothing like having conflicting statements on your site for clarity.

I don't get this. You can't assume you have immunity in front of your kids. If you were asked multiple times to stay away from the helm, then broke the rule and almost killed the captain in the process, you are in for a harsh reckoning.

Lotta guys out there talking big about they'd beef on the captain. Do you really want to try that? The guy is coming off an adrenaline high after almost being killed. He would probably knock you silly.

I am shocked so many people want to make it a fault issue. I don't care where one falls on the fault issue, the above is correct. Handle it, but not like that.

Seems simple. If the people are a danger, let them know they are. If they don't tighten up, bring them back in.

Bro the guy almost killed him!!!

You take someone hunting. You tell them ten times not to point the gun at you. They do it an eleventh time, the gun goes off, and narrowly misses you.

"naw we're cool stop being mean its okay"

WTF is this the feelings board??? "oh don't yell at a man in front of his wife and kids if he almost killed you".

F that. You almost kill me and I will come at you like a spider monkey. Full stop.

You know, that guy is not the only insane anger ridden person on the planet. There's at least one more that posts on this board.

I’ve seen certain people get angry if say, the trolling motor doesn’t function properly.

This is how it should have been handled. I said it in the post before. I personally never had anyone cause a situation where I needed to bring them in but I did have weather do it when the customers did not want to come in. I dont fish in lightning. So we came in.

Like I stated before. He handled it horribly and he is in full control of the trip. Doing what he did is totally unprofessional and he should not be doing charter trips

Finding out should have been taking the family back to shore if the man truly couldn’t follow basic safety instructions.

Also, I’m having a hard time beleiving anything from someone who is a psychotic as that charter captain

True but the guy in this case was British. They’re used to being emasculated by Americans

This. Some anger is justified, an uncontrollable rant is not. I would have simply yelled without cussing in front of kid “see, that’s exactly why I told you not to mess around in that area. We have rules for a reason, and you almost got me killed because you won’t listen. It is my job to make sure you and your kids have a safe fishing trip and you cannot follow the instructions so I have no choice but to call it a day”
