Does CM still allow walkers and if so do they still charge a golf cart fee?
I'm primarily a walker so that will make a difference for me.

Great question and I agree with you. We have discussed it, scoped it out as far as materials and cost, and are looking at how it can be implemented at the club. At the current moment a wedge range has been installed that goes out 120 yards and has 6 target pins at varying yardages. Trust me, we are doing everything within our power as home owners and members at copper to get it right for everyone. We appreciate all of you and your support.

To my knowledge, there is no additional fee to walk, just pay the green fee and you should be set to go.

CM seems like it would be a bitch to walk. There’s some space between green and tee.

Have walked CM at least 25 times and it hasn't been much of a problem. The Island is probably the least walkable course in the area and we do that all the time too.

Beaver Creek Is up there.

I have walked it with a push cart a few times. No issues. Pretty flat honestly.

Actually one of my favorites to walk. But the walk on the Par 3 #15 hole is a long ways for a Par 3.

It's not really that bad. I mostly walk it when I play there. I would say Beaver Creek has longer walks from green to tee box.

Played out there yesterday. The course is in good shape. Like probably every other course around here, it could use some rain. Greens were a little slow but they rolled true.

Not that it’s huge difference but they were cut a little lower today. They are going down one more time and spraying primo. That’s as low as they will go till next spring.

I joined CM as a platinum member, because of the single reason they are committed to getting it great shape.
I hate the br golf scene. They are going to get it right

I played Thursday. Greens were hard and slow, which is to be expected. They did roll true.
Removing lots of trees really change the look(in a good way), especially on the front.
The gps in the carts was not accurate: it seemed good if the flag was where the gps said it was, but there were a few holes where it just seemed like the flag was wrong. I wouldn’t mind just getting a front/middle/back number if they can’t straighten that out.
The course obviously needs rain.
Overall, I was pleased with what I saw. I am very optimistic about the direction of the course.

I ain’t paying $75 a rd for copper, I’m sorry. I understand the theory, but it’s a bold strategy since it’s subpar condition wise 90% of the time.

Played the past 2 days out there. It's in decent shape, we did the platinum membership, 3 of my boys golf and we went 2 times this week and will be back Monday.
They are giving a heck of a deal in my opinion for a family membership. I really enjoyed the course, it had been a few years since I played out there. Great layout
The course could definitely use some rain, they were actively working on irrigation as we played. You can really tell they have been putting in work to make it nicer. It will be pristine by spring of next year I would guess. Greens are every bit as good or better than any brec course in baton rouge. Rolled true, just a tad slow, but you could tell there is allot of promise
Enjoying the decision to join.

Played again Friday
Greens still very hard, but that doesn’t really matter to me cuz I don’t hit many.
Rolled true and we’re quicker this week than last
GPS issue was much better this week.
I’m optimistic about the course’s future
But we sure could us some rain

Clark, Santa Maria, and Beaver Creek geens are better than Copper Mill right now.

I really want copper to get there. It’ll take some pressure off of beaver and it’s a great local course to have in the mix when it’s in good condition. It’s been said in here plenty but a warm up area is crucial. On rare occasions I’ll walk straight from the truck to the first tee but in reality you need a place to hit some balls before starting the round. Not only does it help you get in the zone and play better, it’s more of an issue where you don’t want to rip a muscle.

I play Santa Maria often, I highly disagree on that one.
Haven't played beaver, but that's not baton rouge golf scene

I played Copper Mill the day it opened back up. I played Santa Maria Wednesday and Clark Thursday. I wasn't impressed by Copper because I thought they opened up to early because of bald spots on greens. Now when it is all said and done, I think Copper will be better but I am not sure it is worth $75. I will play it again in a couple of weeks to give it a chance cause I like the layout.
