Shootout this morning near 500k homes right by Metairie around 4am. 60+ shots. Police looking for leads. Insane. Just posted another crime article. Wasn’t sure if the etiquette- post together or separately?

Terrible, but its FDL and Vets, probably one of the most well traveled sections of road in the city.

I'm sure the prices around there are on average quite a bit higher than that.
And it sucks that these folks can't live in peace know crime is always lurking.

They were at least smart enough to do it there and not cross into Jefferson parish.

Location doesn’t matter anymore. Once the hood rats find the person they want to kill they will shoot up anywhere.

Nothing even remotely like this happened in Lakeview when I lived there before Katrina. Unreal.

Nowhere in New Orleans is truly safe. I moved to River Ridge and commuted to med school thiking it'd be safer, and I still heard shots towards Kenner on multiple occasions and shooting in River Ridge too.

NOPD is a skeleton force at best these days and the criminals know it. I’d be surprised if there’s more than 20-30 officers on duty at any one moment in NOLA.

Probably the police, 70123 is the third safest area code in the state. I encountered zero problems while living in River Ridge...except for that one time I got pulled over in Harahan for the crime of driving after midnight.

They choose to live there. No sympathy

They could all sell their homes there for a tidy profit and move elsewhere
