8 bans, 75 private messages… but let’s try to discuss

A zoo generally isn’t a profit center… but that revenue number is low.
Looks like admission is $8 per adult and $5 per child. So less than 10k visitors in say 7 months…or less than 50 visitors a day.

In March, a 3 On Your Side investigation revealed staffing shortages, subpar revenue, and rapidly declining attendance levels were all contributing to an old collection of animals at the Jackson Zoo, which in turn, were contributing to hundreds of animal deaths. Five months later, on Monday, Jackson city council members revealed the zoo has brought in just $50,000 in revenue from year to date. Meanwhile, leaders within Parks and Rec are asking the council to set aside $1.8 million for the century-old park.

I'm steering clear of this one.

Then they should close

Why go to the zoo when you can drive around the streets for free? Most of the animals aren't in cages of any kind.

I went about 5 years ago for nostalgia purposes because I went every summer as a kid. It was sad. Depressing as hell. this one needs to shut down.
Not to mention the area around it is less than desirable on the best of days.

Can we get a similar (honest) revenue report regarding the BR Zoo?

TLDR - Jackson can't keep their monkeys alive.

Why does a Zoo need a Zoo?
Posted on 8/16/23 at 8:15 am to LSUFanHouston
They need to try a Blue at the Zoo day to generate interest from the community.

Is this where we joke about the the lack of difference between the inhabitants of both

Would be curious. I haven't been there in about 40 years. I don't know of anybody who goes.

Aquariums are better anyways... indoors where it's air conditioned like God intended.
Shut the zoos down and release the beasts

Free admission, just might cost you a new front end alignment and possibly your life to visit

The Jackson zoo is literally in a war zone. It should have been moved years ago. Needs to be closed
