So with all of the storage buildings popping up like hot cakes. At what point does the market become saturated? Also I would think it would be of the first things to go in a time of budget constraints.

Would you invest in a storage right now if you had the opportunity?

Only if it was open boat/rv type storage. Those chains have all the small stuff oversaturated.

I can't believe there's that much demand for those things. I understand it when you are moving or selling your house but otherwise it makes no sense.

Look in peoples garages when the doors are open. They can't fit cars in them they have so much stuff stacked inside them.

Look at all the shite houses popping up with zero storage space. HOAs preventing them from installing a shed unless it is built with same specs as house.

That is the only bull case I can think of...I am not saying it is right or wrong.

I have talked to people who own them and they cannot even believe the stuff people put into them. They told me unless it is a collectable or family heirloom throw it away before you put it into storage.

The average person is a tard.

My dad has a storage unit for his junk. It MIGHT be worth $1,000 and he's paid well over that amount for storage.

I live in a 250 home neighborhood. Easily half of the neighborhood doesn't park a single vehicle in their garage.

People want to hang onto so much sh*t they never use it's insane. People just hoard these days and storage units get so popular because it at least gets a chunk of their junk out of the house.

I personally dont see these getting less popular any time soon, the prices on these units have also gone way up over the last 5-10 years feels like. I was shocked what a few of my friends were paying per month for their units. $100-$140/mo for small units and closer to $200/mo for mid size units. Climate controlled so dont know how much that adds to the price.

The market is definitely over saturated but big investment groups are buying them up like crazy much easier to run than apt complexes

Depends on where you live. The market around here must not be saturated yet because they keep building them. The owner where I rent a 10X10 has built over 100 new units in the last 2 years.

I can only get one car in, but that's due to my weight rack taking up the other side.

We basically adopted a rule that nothing goes in the attic. If there's an issue with the closets it gets donated or thrown out.
