My uncle from Mobile said his last homily was all about the corruption of the Archbishop in the diocese. I think the Archbishop is from New Orleans. and said he was leaving for Spain.

Weird story but it doesn’t prove the guy has done anything illegal tbh
I’d have to see what the letter said to really make an opinion. Seems they had affection for each other but maybe waited until she was of age, which while it is creepy I’m not sure it would be illegal as long as they never had sex or anything while she was under 18

At the time of writing, Crow and the teen remain in Europe and apparently have no plans to return. She is said to have told family members that she is happy and has asked them to leave her in peace.
And

'She is with someone who the sheriff's office considers a predator,' she said.
After the couple was discovered in Italy, the young woman reportedly told a family member that 'she went with him on her own free will.' She also allegedly insisted there was no romantic relationship between them and that they were staying in separate bedrooms.
I mean she’s 18 and says she wants to be there. What can law enforcement do?

Still unclear of the actual crime. If she is 18 and says she went willingly…..

Isn’t the whole point of the Catholic Church to molest kids? I hear the parochial schools in Louisiana are great though.

So much controversy in this thread when it comes to interpretation and different faiths. I'm not a religion scholar but have studied a lot about the catholic church. I was born, baptized, confirmed, married Catholic, etc.. I now attend a non-denominational.
As I understand it, a priest grants forgiveness on behalf on the congregation, not for God. You've also sinned against man (the congregation). This was told to me at Cursillo. Take it like you want.
I certainly don't agree with some of the actions of the Catholic church in earlier centuries but I feel those actions were because of their beliefs. Just like we have different beliefs in this thread.
I think the important thing to remember is that despite what church you go to or what religion you practice, try to keep an open mind, use the brain that God gave you, and try to be a good person.. Have compassion, tolerance, faith and forgiveness. Don't be an a-hole.

So, two adults went to Italy together, without writing a dissertation on why.
