Bunch of used planes about to hit market as WheelsUp bellies up.

Lesson to those buying jet cards--check the liquidity of the company.

Net jet monthly management fees are huge and they wear your airplane out putting big hours on it. You don't see that till you exit the contract. Fractional, however, from my research is better than a jet card.

Relatives had one, but jets did not exist back then, do private train cars count? If ever a form of travel was 1st class, private cars were "the bomb".

In more recent years, flown private to SEC sporting events and pretty sweet. While not excited about the planes the way some may be, the travel speed is really addictive.

Imagine

Getting to the plane's airport ( parking spot is reserved for you) with your luggage (they tote and load) and being wheels up about 5 mins later.

Once in air, non stop (no layovers for hours hassling with crowds switching flights)

On the ground vehicle is waiting for you (sometimes police escort) and whisked to where you are staying

The thing you notice is how efficiently you get through the process but the biggest thing you notice is how much time you waste traveling coach on a public plane.

I worked for a publicly traded land development company 1980s and flew on the company Gulfstream almost weekly for business (my wife hated it because I was gone a lot). The company president didn't want to make it look like he was using it as his 'personal' jet, so he would load us up in Monterey and we would go work in La Quinta for the week and then come home on Friday. He'd pop open a bottle of champagne before landing every trip (I guess he wanted us relaxed). ;)

My boss has a few friends that have made boatloads of money. One lives in Florida s d the other in Colorado.
He said it’s do convenient and after that you don’t want to fly regularly again.
He compared it to bring in a football suite vs being in the regular crowd.
He did state that the size of the plane helps as well

I work in the industry and have spent a lot of time in many different jets. Flew on a G700 round trip across the country. Amazing airplane - still finishing FAA certification and projected to deliver this year.

Only once, as a kid to go duck hunting near Lake Charles in the early 80s before the oil bust. It was pretty exciting.

CESSNA 560XL - flown probably 5-6 times.

It's nice because you don't have to deal with all the TSA/Airport bullshite.
