Tre's moving on up to single A. Looks like was assigned to the Charleston RiverDogs today. Love watching these dudes make their mark.

Anyone know where he’s playing defensively so far?

Stupid question likely…. But what’s below Single A? I thought that was the low

Rookie League
He's listed on their roster as an infielder. In 12 games in Rookie League, he hit .417.

Newly drafted players (and some other guys from previous drafts who need more looks sometimes) play in a rookie league first in the summer since the other minor league teams have been playing for a while this season. IT would be hard for teams to add 15-18 newly drafted players to a single A roster that's already fully fleshed out from the draft immediately basically in the middle of a season.

Rookie league is the lowest, but there are several classifications within Single A.

If I remember correctly, they used to have a rookie league, Short season single A,
-A, and A+. They condensed that to single A, A+ then you go to AA. Teams send rookies to their spring training facility before Single A now.

when I lived in Fl it was called instructional and the local league was the Fl Coast League, iirc, it was great because two teams shared the same facility, which was nice because it was the major league training camp facility, games every night, hardly anyone there, the kids could could get as many foul balls as they had energy to track down, and great concessions

There is the FCL and ACL rookie leagues which are played at those team's spring training sites and then from there, there's low-A and high-A.
Basically, the hierarchy is
AAA
AA
High-A
Low-A
FCL/ACL

My son’s tee ball team was the RiverDogs last fall. Very cool.

Pretty sure it was 12 at bats not games

Saw a couple box scores of games he's played and he was at 1B.

The stats I saw yesterday had him at first

Hope to see him with the AAA Durham Bulls next year.
