he doesn’t actually rate or rank the food

His method is to be entertaining and to showcase to the red bean spots. Ranking and reviewing would be awesome, but it's actually pretty genius that he doesn't. It's hard to keep something going for years with a ranking system. Then people start criticizing your ranking and some businesses are mad you're there.

I think he's hilarious. Would drink a beer and eat red beans & rice with.

Never heard of him. Watched the one about the Thibodaux gas station and his trashy speech was too much after a few minutes.

Used to be indifferent to dislike him. The longer he has been around the more likable he has become.

Think the podcast is what made me not like him. The weekly red beans spots are pretty decent.

Plate lunches are their own category. I've never classified them as fast food. Call it deli food, hot plates, or plate lunches...all the same.

Speaking of is there anywhere around Covington/Mandeville that has a good plate lunch that isn't Rouses. Trying to find some more grab & go type spots

Ya boy pissing in the gas station parking lot about 3 weeks ago. Funny shite. Not out back but right up front where he pulled up. Then goes inside and grabs a case of beer.
No fricks given

Yeah I like that he doesn’t rank them. That way he’s not shitting on a local business. I think his thing is that all red beans are good, but you can tell when they are top notch.

I support my parish home boy.

He’s a great example of how much work it is to keep it going. He has a company behind him who can keep up with his rankings. He travels around the US, right? Vs HTM who is in New Orleans, although now he’s branching out for more content.

Admittedly, the only one I watched was Red Zeplin. He doesn’t do it for me entertainment-wise.

I enjoy seeing the different plates from all over the state as of late and the commentary is the icing on the cake
