Thanks for the insanity! I've laughed out loud in every one I read. Try to drop one on us once in a while, especially duiring Florida or Alabama week.

Thanks for all of your hard work to bring laughs to all of us every week during the season. I would always look froward to your new TROUGH's each and every week. You will be missed by many.

A bow from Mike A. Tiger:

Mike admired your weekly excursions to the edge. It ain't easy to dredge up the wit, guile, visualizations and technical execution to pull that off every week. For free.

It takes guts to test the limits. By the nature of the beast that is esoteric humor, once in awhile you didn't leave enough bread crumbs from your Chicageauxdog for others to find the path. But you always gave Mikey things to laugh about. You are a clever guy.

In fact, The Trough was openly recognized as the inspiration for the Mike A. Tiger blog on the LSU Alumni Atlanta site that started up this year. Mike's Boot Blog Using a humor page to draw folks to the Web alumni site is an intended consequence that makes the effort worth taking. If that was a small part of your reason for being, it worked.

Mikey hoped that every LSU alum site would find a local crazy to add some spice to the LSU online pot. Now LSUChicageaux is hanging it up. Few know what the demands are in time and effort to knock out a page like that.

Sad day. Fare thee well Oh Windy One. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi RosGeaux / Mike A. Tiger...that's the first I've seen of the Boot Blog; that's great! Thanks for sharing - I love the Nutt-as-Col-Reb fark. Well done.

And to all who have commented, really, thanks. You make it hard to hang up the cleat-shaped keyboard.

Chicageaux, it's been a good run and I have enjoyed it. I appreciate you taking the time to give us a glimpse into your twisted sense of humor. Maybe you can give us another one some time in the future for "old times sake". Good work, buddy.

The end of this season will see the end of The Trough. It is with much sadness that I close The Trough, but it is time.

Well, what can I say...

My family is now hiding in various places around the house and I am looking over a scene replete with overturned furniture, broken lamps, cowering dogs, and an empty liter of vodka...

the police are outside and I'll likely be wearing a straight jacket in ten minutes and off to the sanatorium for some more chemically induced delirium.

Thanks for all laughs and demented prose. The Trough will be missed!

The police are breaking the front door down now, so I need one drink before I....

Az...get a grip man.
reaches thru the monitor to slap Az
It's all a ratings ploy, like JR gettin shot and Bobby reappearing in the shower. It's all a dream. Chiceaux will be back.
and it's "gayety" when I'm refering to you, Chiceaux.
I want dirty rice when I show up next season. Dawg says it's the best, so it muast be so.

I do not accept your resignation. You can't quit. Perhaps we can get you a pay raise? Seriously, you have a gift that makes people happy (sort of like DC...only your gift is less hairy) (Just kidding DC..it's not THAT hairy.)

Perhaps you should simply write when the muse hits you instead of having a hard and fast regimented schedule. Believe me, we will keep checking.

By the way, for what it's worth, my favorite Trough of all time is still the one you did about Georgia and David Pollock and his motor. Was the first I ever read, and is what hooked me to your site.

Seriously, I hope you won't go into full retirement, but if that is what must be, then thanks for the laughs.
