Cool see you all Saturday morning
As Cholley Mac once famously said, we'll see you "behind the bushes" on Saturday afternoon Dawg.
Will be a very interesting game. I expect a shootout of sorts. Meaning UGA gets 27 and we keep shooting and pull down 42. Murray's big game monkey jumps on his back again.
Dawg or monkey, it all tastes like chicken to Mikey.
Tom Ritter has been holding back for this opportunity to job LSU. I cringe whenever his crew is assigned to us, esp when it's AU and Bama

All of those 4 stars are walking distance to the Dome. From Peachtree at Andrew Young it's just under a mile to the door of the stadium. Very manageable.
Just make sure you search DOWNTOWN and filter search to make CNN Center as the location and that the results show 0 - 1.7 miles radius. If not you could get thrown out to Midtown which requires a cab ride or MARTA ride.

Thanks Mr. One Post.
I'm checking out Buckhead Saloon. Jimmy Ott's doing his show there tomorrow. The alumni watch games there.

"General Sherman's DamnStrong Tea"
LOL. Wonder what would happen if one of our fans dressed as Sherman and started yelling "Burn this mutha down!" outside of the Ga. Dome?
Probably an azzwhuppin' from indignant Dawg fans.
I'll be downtown Saturday. Will have to get one of those teas.

As the fan guide says, check www.itsmarta.com for schedules as they don't run around the clock. They might add more runs and operate later with all of the downtown events like Dragoncon going on too. So check back.
Kudos to the LSU Atlanta folks for putting that together. I'll be knocking 'em back at the Tabernacle Friday and Sidebar before going on the prowl Saturday afternoon.

Sidebar is great place to meet up with folks. Comfortable unpretentious neighborhood bar with better drink prices than most of the traps around downtown.
They stay open til 3 on weekends so it's a good place to go after the Friday concert and (hopefully) for a victory lap after the game.

Cool. Speaking as a cat, if it included a trip to the Cheetah Club I'd jump on it!

they sure do get awful musical acts for stuff like this
Could not disagree more. All high energy bands, perfect party atmosphere and music. Amanda Shaw is amazing talent, Travis is an LSU fan favorite, and Bag of Donuts is just slap off the chain.
I can think of a lot of other great acts from La. but these aren't chopped liver either.
Mmmmm, Mikey likes chopped liver...
The show sounds great with those three acts tearing it up. Bag of Donuts is nuts.

That really is a one of a kind. I hope it gets a good price after all of that other stuff from the old Box was sold off recently. Would be a great topper for the items a serious collector may have already obtained.

Sounds like a plan. I'm staying a couple miles south on I Drive and it looks like there's a trolly/bus thing you can use along that strip. But not a long cab ride either.
Wow...that's Arkansas fast.

It all counts, of course. The Friends of Mike the Tiger campaign helped provide my habitat (as good as any in the world) at LSU, and I thank everyone who donated and bought bricks.
None of that money went to Great Cats. In fact, federal regulations prohibit any quid pro quo deals in transactions involving exotic endangerd animals. LSU could not pay Great Cats a dime for me. It was a straight up donation. In fact, when Rob and his family came down to see me the first season I was here LSU could not provide them with lodging or travel, but some fans raised some money and made it possible for them to come.
Truth is stranger than fiction sometimes. However, I do agree that the trade of animals like me should be regulated, otherwise there would be a lot more illegal and harmful trapping and selling of lions and tigers (and bears, oh my) but it's a little too stringent when you can't even do something legit like bringing the people who raised me to LSU to be honored.
Thanks again.

I'm the only one that has been donated to a school. It's a rescue sanctuary where they get exotics that dumb humans think they can handle and then have to give up when they maul the furniture. So Great Cats is usually a last and safe destination for them.
There is a contact email at their Web site. Email Rob any questions about the facility. He may know where other schools are getting their mascots from.
THANKS

Thanks elleshoe. It's a jungle out there. Lots of monkeys in the trees.
Great Cats is no joke, and neither is this message. Without them there would be no me.

A BIRTHDAY WISH FROM MIKE VI
Posted by RosGeaux on 7/26/09 at 8:25 am
Hello Tiger Fans! It's my birthday!
Mike here. Really. Actually I was named Roscoe at birth and that’s the name that will perk up my ears. But if getting a new name gets me this incredibly sweet crib, expert care and all of this human adulation, I’ll take that trade! Any tiger would kill to take my place. Well, most of them kill anyway to eat, but you know what I mean.
I don’t post much because of my clumsy paws on this tiny notebook that I snatched from one of my trainers and hid behind a bush when she wasn’t looking. I kinda feel bad but it was an LSU computer and I figure I deserve it, since I'm kinda "staff" too and especially since it’s the only way for me to keep in touch with my family.
That’s actually why I am writing. It’s my birthday and I often hear people at the cage wonder what else they could do special for me. Folks, I now have everything a tiger could dream of having – except maybe a ladyfriend tiger, but I digress- but if you REALLY want to do something for me, please consider making a donation to help out Great Cats of Indiana, where I was born and where my family still lives. Rob, Laura and an incredible group of workers and volunteers are the most caring and giving people in the world. They have transformed their farm in Idaville, Indiana into a sanctuary for rescued big cats and other assorted orphans. It’s not fancy but they keep it as clean as possible and provide the best tender loving care. Here's a picture of Rob feeding my Dad Tigger a tasty chicken treat with mom waiting for her turn.
My dad, mom, sibs, and other family are among the nearly dozen tigers that live there, and they also house a panther, a few lions, bobcats as well as some wolves, foxes, horses and a loud mouthed mule. Chickens and pigs, well, let's just say the Circle of Life is absolutely delicious. Hakuna Matada.
Great Cats is too small to attract any big foundation grants and must survive on donations of food from area farmers and businesses, guided tour admissions, and monitary donations from humans like you. Rob and Laura mean the world to me for the care and love they have given me and my family.
If you want to make Roscoe, er, Mike chuff with happiness, please consider sending any kind of donation to Great Cats of Indiana. Here's a link to GREAT CATS OF INDIANA web page with the whole story about how I became Mike VI. Read it and then click on the Donate button. Make sure to tell them you are an LSU fan and it’s in honor of my birthday. I hope LSU fans never forget what Great Cats has done for Tiger fans and in the spirit of tigers everywhere. And, if you ever get near Indiana, you must make the pilgrimage to visit. LSU visitors get the royal treatment.
Thanks, Happy Birthday to Me!!!
