Nope. Once you move on your moved on. I did frick up and went past the point of no return where I’m at, hence my shite show with the assault on moonrise.

Things kinda went sideways for me here… not going to spoil anything but something came out of left field and steered me back towards the middle of the evil/nice spectrum

If you get the opportunity, try to talk your way out of fights, you get more exp that way (and can just attack them after, to double-dip on getting exp from them ).

That's one thing I love about this, there are tradeoffs all over instead of one or two uber stats you dump everything into (making every character play pretty similarly). Want more strength to do more weapon damage? You have to sacrifice it somewhere else.

My bard's primary stat is Charisma (17) so I have been able to talk my way through a LOT of stuff. My melee attacks aren't for shite though.

I'm loving my Vengeance Paladin playthrough so far. Intimidation, persuasion, and straight up smiting all feel on brand and effective for him (Unlike my devotion Paladin from early access who always took the less violent path if he could).

Killed Astarion for trying to bite me. No more gay vamps to worry about.

Luckily ghis is not my first BG game and have been quick saving often. F5 if you dont want to look it up.

The game auto-saves when you come out of camping. I've camped dozens of times and there doesn't seem to be any penalty for it (ie: tadpole doesn't become more active), at least in Act 1. I've gotten to the point where I camp after a major fight or when I am out of short rests. I have suffered no ill effects... yet.

i bought it, i dont know when im going to play it, but i'm voting with my wallet. seems like these folks did it the right way for a change.

also, this quote from the D4 Designer made it an easy buy
quote:

Diablo IV senior designer Chris Balser also agreed with Nelson Jr., saying that it is important to remember that not all studios operate under the same conditions. He compared Baldur’s Gate 3 to Ultima VII, the favorite RPG of Larian founder Swen Vincke — “that’s a game that had 12 years of prior games feeding into it.”

Reading how shook and uncomfortable the rest of the industry is over this game is what pushed me over the edge too.

I can't deny that it appealed to me as well. I've never seen competitors come out about a product saying (essentially) "don't expect our stuff to be that good" and even "don't expect it to set a new bar for quality in the industry".

I have to wonder if they regret those statements now.

gonna have to use the Internet to find some sources of xp.

Probably need to spend some of this gold I’m sitting on for some gear too

Day 3 of getting my shite rocked at moonrise.

40 HP away from finishing it and got my last 3 characters wiped boom, boom, boom. All in a row.

God fricking dammit.

Finished finding the druid and killing the 3 leaders. halfway to level 5. Got the bionic eye because it didn't have negative effect on shadowheart.

I guess I will take underdark path to moon and decide if i want to find the item to finish reading the necromancy book or not.

I never even partied with the bitchy orc, her mood towards me was low neutral, and she still got in her feelings about me getting romantic with shadowheart. Bitches be crazy.

Never got my gear back from mol or finished the side quest of saving the child thief. Even with reduction spell my smallest larty member won't fit in burrows.

I only accidentally figured out there's a separate skill tree for eye boogers, and unfortunately each character has their own separate one.

I told the monster hunter where he was and then told him I told the monster hunter where he was. He stormed off and left the party permanently. I lol'ed and forgot him. Such an annoying character.

Hit lvl 4

Not sure if I like Karlach or Laz’ael for my melee role in the party better.

Laz’s self heal and extra action ability is pretty useful.

I wanted karlach but she noped out on me. Laz is annoying so I recruited the generic barb from the skeleton.

I haven't used Karlach yet but Laz'ael has turned out to be a solid melee DPS with some tankiness (I need to put her into some heavier armor). Also, I like hearing her and Shadowbane snipe at each other.

still insanely impressed with this game.

in act 2 now and hit a major point (no spilers) but i could see how events in this one scene could play out in multiple ways and greatly affect play through.

i dont play through games more than once very often. i can see myself going through this one twice, maybe 3 or 4 times.

~50 hours into my first run, still in act 1 (lvl 6) - game is absolutely fantastic, has completely taken over every minute of my free time.

will definitely be doing at least one additional 'evil' run for sure
