Hey cast of the 1990s hit show Saved By The Bell what do you think about the Astros offense?

I like this DAT theme. Hope you will get to keep it going a while, but I don’t love your chances.

Hopefully, Brown is just posturing about another bat and another SP not being urgent needs. Even with Yordan and Altuve back, it’s not as if the offense has consistently been good even in their limited action this year.

Here's a great piece talking with Hunter Brown and JP France about the constant evolving they've done as pitchers. Reading what they've done with the Astros' help makes you want to laugh at the Keith Law types who make sweeping predictions on prospects who keep making so many significant changes to be their best.

I put $30 on the Rays.

If they win, I’ll get $36.

I read the piece about Brown and France yesterday. Law regularly shits on almost everyone to the point where he has almost no credibility. In particular, Law has been bitter about how much the Astros cut their scouting staff in recent years.

The Astros' player development with pitching has been cranking out serviceable or better pitchers who weren't highly regarded by the prospect community for a few years now. But the writers jizz all over themselves about the Rays, and then turn a blind eye at the Astros, who are doing it as well, if not better.

Not sure whether the baseball or college sports media is worse, but both groups are insufferable.

Optioned Martinez to make room for Graveman. Feel bad for him. Besides last game he’s been pretty solid mid relief.

Rangers get Scherzer from Mets, pending his approval.

I don’t really want him back. He’s been less than spectacular in the playoffs and everyone here knows that.

Also, forgive me if I’m not shaking at Scherzer and his 4.01 ERA is going to Texas. Is he all of the sudden not going to be 40 anymore and on the downside of his cos career anymore? And once the playoffs roll around, he’s going to be tired. Just like JV.

This current Astros team is not making postseason.

Disagree. We’re in the dog days and everyone is complacent/going through the motions. Happens every single season in the history of baseball.

Or at least till Baker blows it by insisting to play Maldanado

The pitching staff is in shambles. We have 3 guys that will hit new career max innings. Our two aces are tired.

And the bullpen is overworked.

Combine that with a rotating lineup of weak hitting to non-hitting players.

Postseason is unlikely.

Farm System is total shite. We don't have anything anyone would reasonably want.

I think Crane and Bagwell playing GM seriously set this franchise back
