A tranny named "Harry" (on its name tag) who was in a dress, makeup and wig but had a voice deeper than mine and a stubble beard. Very memorable to say the least. He kept having me swipe my debit card to ID the account which was strange to do more than once.

Progressive posters will tell you that you deserved this for judging Harry. You are lucky that you can keep any of your money because of your phobias.

Update: they still suck. Spent most of the day at a branch pressuring them to give us our money to no avail

They called someone while I was there who said all they could think was to credit our account and short their branch then update the GL (general ledger?) later. Now they have to get the “Regional Director” to approve it or wait until midnight (again). I’m closing my account as soon as this shits resolved and going with my credit union only

If it makes you feel any better. I’ve had similar experiences at 2 local bank/credit union. They were a bad experience similar to this.

I have a chase credit card for gas (5% cash back) and Zelle. Now that Zelle is usable with other banks that’s likely out of the picture now.

Exact reason why I do all my banking with Hancock. Been with them since the mid 90s. Never had an issue.

Wouldn’t that shortage wash with an overage yesterday or still have the amount unmatched to checks in the bank’s account used to fund/cut the cashiers checks, or if no overage or unmatched balance do they have a record of each cashiers check funded and cut? Otherwise they might have a thief or someone fudged reconciliation for yesterday with all the system issues.

Even if system shows each check funded & cut but obviously never handed over with system issues a Cashier’s Checks can still be cancelled, and in this case doesn’t seem like waiting 90 days would be required with no actual check made due to their admitted system issues.

Seems like they would have been better prepared to fix situation knowing the issues yesterday including your specific issue.

Why don’t people just use local/regional banks with high end customer service???

Because big banks gobble up smaller, successful well run banks. One account of mine went from small home town to Wachovia-regional to Wells Fargo-national (where it met up with another account I had).

They should have just handed you $10,000 in cash. They can then work out their own issues after that.

It’s two different GL accounts so not really. It will take some additional work to make it wash.

The Regional Director statement sounds odd because someone lower level than that has an 10K overdraft authority.

you can deposit cash at the ATM which my credit union doesn’t offer.

What kind of credit union are you using that doesn't allow cash deposit at an ATM?

The whole thing is odd. They’re saying it was because of a glitch they had nationwide yesterday. But apparently it only affected cashier’s checks because they sure as shite debited all the other purchases from our account yesterday and my wife’s paycheck went in at midnight last night. Supposedly, it will settle tonight at midnight. If not, I’m just gonna go park my arse in the branch manager’s office tomorrow until I get my money back.

I have no idea what their glitch was but recovery from those can happen at different speeds. They prioritize. IE if everyone’s paycheck were delayed then you’d hear a bunch of noise publicly vs a few people were affected by Cashiers Checks.

Did you get fixed yet?

Friend,

These problems do not exist if you have a Private Client account. Talk to your branch manager about membership.
