There was a baw here a while back that got addicted to their strip clubs.

Tampa used to have the best strip club in America -- Mons Venus. Last time I was there (a long time ago), it was fully nude and all the girls were top notch. Florida has since changed their laws and fully nude clubs are no longer a thing (from what I hear).

My four siblings and I inherited a nice house on the water on a little island just off Pass-A-Grille down from the Don Cesar Hotel. I'm not a Florida fan and hadn't been down there in years. So, I sold my share to a couple of my siblings. I did enjoy a grouper sandwich at The Hurricane, but that was not a reason for me to keep an interest in the property.
Dude

To each their own but my goodness, it would be difficult for me to get rid of a place like that

Exactly - to each his own.

When my Mom was alive she wanted to sell it. I told her that the capital gain she'd get hit with from 1975 - 2019 would be outrageous. I told her to do what she wanted, but the IRS would get much less if she allowed us to inherit the property rather than inherit the money from a sale during her lifetime.

Upon her death, two of the siblings wanted to keep it and three of us wanted it sold. So, two bought the three of us out. It was a good chunk of money. I was happy to be able to split the hit on the capital gains tax three ways. And the siblings who bought us out love the area as a vacation place. We are all happy.

If you know any good food spots we will look into it.

VIP in Indian Rocks Beach just up the road for Mexican or Rita’s (also a much smaller location in st Pete beach)

Slyce across the causeway by Publix for pizza (also one up in Indian Rocks)

Larry’s in St Pete Beach for the best ice cream

1200 Chophouse in St Pete Beach for a nice steak (limited seating get there early if you don’t wanna wait)

Pipos in Bay Pines or Kooky Coconut in Indian Rocks Beach for a good Cuban sandwich

Sweet Brewnette in Madeira Beach for coffee and breakfast sandwiches

Those are a few of my faves in close proximity

The Crabbys and Caddy’s restaurants are all over the place here and unfortunately your just paying for the location / views there. Mediocre food, drinks and service.

Your not joking about the water temps today. Spent the whole day at Reddington Beach while we had a new AC installed at the house. Water is very warm, but exceptionally clear though, and calm. Can go out neck deep and look down and see your feet right now.

Same same .

Siesta Key is the best beach in America, makes 30A seem like Galveston .

Siesta Key has a swimming ban because of human poo poo in the water. Sounds like a shitty place to me.

I don’t think that’s true. Was there Tuesday with no issues.

Correct .. most beaches around the world have issues from time to time.. if it isnt red tide or human sewage or the BP oil spill a dozen years ago , then it’s toxic algae blooms that prevent swimming in the water (see Mexico and most Caribbean beaches over the last several years).. these things are a sad reality of most beaches and islands in the world today .

I was speaking in general terms, in most times Siesta is much much nicer than anything 30A or the panhandle has to offer .

Do you have an opinion on Buya Ramen? Someone posted their menu online and they have a lunch special for 1/2 off ramen bowls but that's not mentioned on the website. I know it's going to be 100+ head index out but I'm craving short rib ramen.

Sorry, can't help ya on that one. If you head over that way though, swing by and visit waterfront Straub Park afterwards to walk off your meal. Excellent bay views and lots of shade to avoid some of this heat The pier and Teak bar is worth checking out too if you've never been.

It’s so damn hot out here. Sun is beaming and the water has not cooled off at all.

We did Buya and it was incredible. Short rib ramen and some edamame.
