Just saw a post on IG about a 2027 baseball recruit, he's 6'2 200lbs as an incoming HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMAN. The kid is already hitting exit velo of 100mph..He'll be attending Opelousas Catholic..Jay needs to be all over this kid for the next few yrs!

Check out Dominic “Tre” Giametta who is/was committed to Bama out of TX. Not sure what the deal is now that Bohanan was fired. Was hitting 90s this year as an 8th grader. About the same size or bigger than the kid in OP.

Does the age really matter though, he's still an incoming freshman. Who will only get bigger, stronger as he ages and gets closer to stepping on a campus/draft

I trust PG more than 2D.

Those PG numbers are very good freshman numbers, but not nationally elite type numbers.
There are a dozen or more 2027 and 2028 prospects in the greater BR area with similar PG numbers as his.

Certainly a kid to keep an eye on, but not a slam dunk high end D1 prospect in 9th grade.

I believe his older brother is a 2024 committed to the Cajuns.

Also watch for 2027 Landyn Craft (STM) 5-10, 185

has been playing with the 23/24 showcase group this summer and performing well.

He was also in Hoover May 13th with kids I know. He pitched well, but so did many there, it was a wooden bat event, ball jumps out his hand.

I was at a showcase at UL a few weeks later with incoming freshman and sophomores, there were a few catchers with right at 2.0 pop times, similar to his.

His dad is my wife’s boss. Kid is legit. His exit velo is not in the 100s. His pop time is legit.

Played against him a few times this year. Big good looking kid for going into 9th grade but class of 2027 is pretty deep. Many talented players from all over the state. Saw a few kids this year hit balls off the scoreboard in West Feliciana for PG tournaments with BBCOR.

Was in Hoover this year for Wood Bat Tournament. Talked with the coach of USA Prime. Coach had 4 kids on 2027 team that threw over 90. Landon Green was his top pitcher. 93mph Florida St commit.
