Where are the cancellations happening?
Bet you there are in the blue states.

Our totally dead mall has four showings each day. Of course I'm in a red state and a fairly conservative suburb, so maybe that helps.

I don’t get it. Wouldn’t it make more sense to just not release the movie or show it at any theaters or give everyone who bought tickets information to the fbi?

So, one showing was canceled, for unknown reasons, and one of the compensations being offered was a new ticket to another showing? Turribul

How many screenings have been effected in total? Can you explain how this is any different than the times any given theater has technical difficulties because atm this sounds like a bunch of conspiracy minded morons are chomping at the bit to find something to complain about.
And FWIW LINK

AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron and “Sound of Freedom” distributor Angel Studios have joined forces to quell a boycott against the exhibition chain over the release of the Jim Caviezel action movie. Social media users have accused AMC of purposely disrupting “Sound of Freedom” screenings following accusations that the hit film stokes QAnon conspiracy theories (Rolling Stone, for instance, slammed “Sound of Freedom” as a “QAnon-tinged thriller”). Claims include AMC canceling screenings and disrupting showtimes with technical difficulties and broken air conditioning.
“Sadly, conspiracy theorists are so prevalent in America. So much garbage information is spread,” Aron wrote on Twitter. “More than ONE MILLION people have watched ‘Sound of Freedom’ at AMC Theatres. More than at any other theatre chain on the planet. Yet people falsely claim otherwise. It is so bizarre.”
quote:
“We understand there are rumors — predominantly in social media — that AMC theaters have made it difficult for fans to see ‘Sound of Freedom’ in local AMC theaters, and we want to make it clear these rumors are not accurate,” Angel Studios’ head of theatrical distribution Brandon Purdie said. “AMC has been an outstanding partner for Angel Studios, and in fact, as a result of the movie’s performance and consumer demand, AMC has agreed to add additional screens for ‘Sound of Freedom’ this weekend.”
Purdie added, “Angel Studios and the producers of ‘Sound of Freedom’ are asking our fans to support AMC, and all of our other theatrical partners. Summer is the busiest season for people working in theaters, so we ask that anyone attending a screening of ‘Sound of Freedom’ show kindness to their local theater staff. We have the best movie fans in the business. Let’s continue to show theaters the love that Angel supporters are known for.”

Watched this movie last week while traveling for work in Spokane WA. Went to the 6:20 showing and online for reserved seats all but 2 seats and the very first row were sold out or not available. Once the movie started the theater may have been at 40% occupancy.
Something is up. Either they sold the seats and no one showed. Or they want them to show sold so no one can go.

Is a powerful movie, and a good movie. But is hard to watch. When the little boy is rescued, they ask his name, and he answers teddy bear. Is a pinch in the gut, and happend pretty early on. Saw it saturday and then came home and watched a comedy. Still wound up drinking too much. Anyone who supports blocking this movie needs to ask themselves if they are a monster.

More social media nuts claiming a deep state conspiracy when the reality is that most movie theatre experiences just suck now.
Everyone is clamoring to be a victim these days.

So the ticket tallying software was not updated/ glitched or as is often the case they put sold out anytime there is a known issue with the theater. BUT NO MUST BE A CONSPIRACY! Or it actually happens frequently..ask anyone who work in a theater. They offered a them seat for a showing that night. Did you hear what the guy videoing said when he heard the news " You and everyone else in the nation" which is total exaggerated horse shite.

There are people buying seats and not going to drive ticket sales. One lady said flat out she couldn't watch it because of the content but wanted to support the movie.
She bought tickets and didn't go.
Not sure if that's in play elsewhere.

LINK Well it looks like the studio is behind it. What does it mean? Very strange indeed.

Saturday matinee. July 15th. Theater about 75% full at 1 pm. This isnt slowing down.

We had an issue at the showing I went to last Wednesday. Two different groups of people tried to claim our seats. The theater and Fandango hadn’t coordinated properly and they oversold the feature. Theater management finally got it all sorted out, but I’ve never experienced that before.
