And yet you had no idea where I got the 80% figure? This is common knowledge to anyone who pays attention to energy policy.
Whether they will or won't meet their goals isn't the point. The point is, they have declared war on fossil fuels and have begun phasing out coal fired plants and nothing is happening or can happen quickly on the nuclear front. Millions of evs will be going onto the grid over the next 10 years. Several cities have begun banning or attempting to ban gas hookups in new buildings and/or gas stoves and heaters. it takes a lot of electricity to generate heat. We are lead by children with their heads in the clouds and we could be headed for energy rationing.

By buying a solar array? I can afford it and even if I only ever need it as a backup system it is worth it to me to have uninterrupted power during the several outages we have here every year. I actually hope brownouts never come to pass and it's always just an emergency backup.

quote:Stop with the sky-is-falling fearmongering BS. If you legitimately think that an economy-killing energy shortage via regulation is a possibility and that no one is going to say "hold up I think we need to turn the gas back on", then I don't know what to tell you other than please join me here in reality.

I didn't misrepresent shite. I stated it exactly how it was reported. You were just ignorant. Anyone who knows anything about politics and this administration wouldn't have to ask where I got an 80% renewables target for 2030 from. Just admit you were ignorant and move on.

You continue to say "80% renewables" by 2030 when that is absolutely NOT the administration's stated goal.

yep and the new PW3 is badass. I just wrapped up an IE review on them.
Same 13.5kW? It's LFP now right? A little better continuous output?

you used a google search to prove you know what you're talking about vs people in the industry with real world actual knowledge? When you buy a car with a 5, 8, 10 whatever year warranty, do you expect the car to take a shite the next year? The warranty on good panels is 25 years and will still produce as high as 92+% at year 25.

A modest solar panel won’t do anything. You need a significant array to do any real charging beyond trickle charging a 12v battery
I can't even charge up an EV car without "significant" amounts?
What do I need, 2000 sf of panels just to power up a car?

how is it a scam if a homeowner puts solar panels on their shitty roof? Sounds like that's just a 'bad idea' and not a 'scam'
If the installer retains the credit/rebate pot for any other reason convinces a HO to put them on a roof without considering roof condition, I’d call that at a scam. People that think things through don’t get scammed as much.

Yep. Still 13.5. The new LFP cells. 50% better peak output. Quite a bit smaller and lighter as well.
BTW you do any work with Rev or Unified?

That's a bit over kill probably. Off the top of my head thats a 40kWish system.

Smaller and lighter with a heavier chemistry? Nice.

Haha, who do you know there? I know both of those companies.

They took a bunch of weight out of the frame. The weight isn’t much, but it’s significantly thinner. I think the installs with the Tesla inverter are going to be tits.

I’ve know Josh for years. Met Ryno recently through a buddy of mine.

We've installed quite a few PW+ and they're easy to install. Some limitations without panel level and such but it's a nice ecosystem.
Pretty much the same for me.
