This is what you call the cops being your friend as they build a case against you. They know everywhere she was from the time she left work until the car stopped.

That statement was solid. Stays friendly with everyone. Continues to investigate but clearly indicates no threat to the community or any ruse of abductions using a toddler

Where were these people when I was trying to get kidnapped? Sounds like good times to me.

Yep. This bit right here says it without saying it:

Like someone said above, they probably weren’t counting on the traffic cam on the interstate

Probably planning on shorter time frame, but below came out forcing them to come up with new story. It did give her time to do her nails and just say the kidnappers did it…
quote:

Friday - 9:45 p.m. Update: WBRC has obtained traffic camera video from Interstate 459 at mile marker 11.7 from the time period it is believed that Carlee Nichole Russell disappeared.

Police and some of the news media must have had some doubts early on. So much of narrative was coming from the mom and what she was told by others (not saying mom knew entire time but was just repeating what she was told). One of the only direct things the mom was told by Carlee on her way home was that she was leaving Taziki’s after picking up the food for herself and the mom.

Didn’t see a lot of independent verification of items like time leaving work, verifying she picked up food at Taziki’s & the time, what happened to the food, on the trucker who saw a red car with door open and a grey car with someone leaning over inside, or interviews with others confirming timeline and so on. Usually press would be interviewing Taziki’s employees and maybe even a customer or two there at the time. Would also be interviewing Carlee’s co-workers.

A lot of vehicles passing in video which if able to verify any aspect of this would have had at least a few pushing to get themselves interviewed on tv (press would be trying to locate as well).

quote:

“Her car door was open, the engine was running, and they found her phone on the ground, along with her wig and her hat,’’ Talitha Russell said. “Her purse was still in the car. Her Apple watch was in her purse and her Air Pods as well.”

Talitha Russell said a tip was called in from a trucker who was traveling along I-459 at the time of Carlee Russell’s disappearance.

“He saw her red car with the door open and he saw a grey car with a tall brown skinned man with khaki shorts on leaning over in the car,’’ Talitha Russell said

Even the traffic video was released with very little commentary Friday night.

The rumormill is saying she is claiming that some people in the woods abducted her for a few days and that there is some Nest/Doorbell cam footage show her casually walking through her neighborhood and then flipping a switch and acting all terrified as she approached her house.

I don't think people understand how readily available and affordable cameras are. As time passes its going to be harder and harder to commit crimes like these.

The damn police should at least come out with a statement that there is no abductor on the loose
quote:

They know they should but they also know that if they do that, they’re basically calling her a liar. That’s when the inevitable “racist!” claims start and you have clowns like Funny Maine inciting a riot in front of Hoover City Hall.

100% this. The cops know they have to get their ducks all in a row before they come out and call her a liar. If they don't, they will have more hell than a little bit from the dumb sheep that believe this nonsense.

Be patient. We will get answers soon enough. This probably isn't a hard case to figure out, but there is a lot of legwork that needs to be done.

As long as there is no threat to the public, I'm ok with the PD slow-playing this.

We’ve also only seen 1 camera. I’m personally of the belief that that isn’t the only camera point at that stretch of 459. It’s covering too great a distance to be the only one.

What was the point of this hoax? No one knows except Carlee and the people involved. My first thought was psychotic break, but I’m not sure anymore. The fact that she ended up (allegedly) at a hotel and was driven home and dropped off makes me think it was planned. Running away with a boyfriend or something doesn’t make sense for a 25 year old. I’m leaning toward cash grab gone wrong, but it’s a really bad plan to make that happen. Who knows?

We have people dying for likes on TikTok. It’s amazing the lengths people will go to for attention.

Maybe she wanted to fake her death and realized not eating or drinking for 2 days sucked so she went back home for some snacks.

I just had a crazy thought. What if that wasn’t her in the car? Remember the truck driver said he saw a tall dark skinned man leaning into the vehicle? She lets her bf or brother (the guy claiming the red roof inn was false) drive her car. She drives his and they or she picks him up in the neighborhood. I mean if you’re gonna run a scheme why let the girl do the dirty dangerous part of stopping on the interstate and running through the woods?

I wondered if police verified the voice on the 911 call as being Carlee’s. I assumed that they did along with knowing number that called & at least getting some call & geo data initially from the phone left behind, but they haven’t given a lot of details on that outside of that the call about the kid near the mile marker did take place and that cops arrived within minutes. I think there was a brief statement from cops on Saturday about the traffic video confirming she was just there right before cops arrived, but I can’t remember exact wording or if it was a direct quote or paraphrasing by the news reporter.

She left her phone in the car. If the story about the call ending at the moment of her staged abduction is true, data will show the location of her last call from her phone.

In 20 years of inner city law enforcement, I have learned to never under estimate the ability of a Queen to make herself the victim or her desire for money to purchase the most basic trinkets of wealth.

This case confirms that ideology,
