DeSantis: Trump must ‘step up’ and appear at primary debates, not ‘entitled’ to nomination

DeSantis made the comments on the Howie Carr Show.
“Nobody is entitled to this nomination. You have got to earn the nomination and doing things like The Family Leader event in Iowa, doing things like these debates — they’re important parts of the process,” he said.
“Every candidate needs to be put to the test, and I think he needs to step up and do it.”
The governor’s comments come as longtime Trump advisor Jason Miller said it’s “unlikely” the former president participates in the first two Republican primary debates.

As if any other candidate in recent history wouldn't catch a bunch of shite for sitting out and cowering from the competition.

Why would Trump be scared to take the debate stage if Desantis is so desperate and flailing?
If Trump isn't intimidated like you all swear by, why wouldn't he show up and wipe the floor with Desantis?
Where's the disconnect between all this confidence you have and the rationale for skipping debates against your opponents?

If Trump wants to voluntarily relinquish his status as the front runner Id be happy for Ron to be treated as the front runner in the first two debates.
