Why do people throw out trash along the roadways? I keep my trash in my truck and throw it away at home in a trash can. I don't roll down my window and just throw it out.
Why do other states seem to have less of a litter problem along roads, and how could Louisiana get a better handle on its litter problem? Any ideas OT'ers?

There’s not less litter elsewhere there’s less cleanup here

If you haven't noticed a trend in all the lists, Louisiana ranks last in nearly everything but number one in litter

Life in prison for littering
mandatory covers for garbage trucks
easy civilian reporting of litters via app
Prisoners and debtors pick up litter
fines for businesses with litter on their properties

Let's the prisoners know that someone is thinking of them

Eta

Would be a good way to pass messages along. If you had a specific thing to look for and could decipher whatever code was on it.

shite is aggravating man. People need to take more pride in their communities.

I was behind a women who did this yesterday. Can you call and report someone for littering? I'm not one who's going to stick my nose where it doesn't belong, but nothing aggravates me more than seeing people litter. There needs to be more enforcement for this.

It has alot to do with upbringing. The people who do it likely live in filth at home, and personal hygine likely nasty.

I wrote my share of litter tickets.

Law enf does not take it serious. It would take a drop off officer on foot with binocs, and a catch unit hiding nearby.

I went and visited my cousins in Lafayette a few years ago, and a big storm blew through while I was there, A LOT of rain. Driving back home on I-10 over the bridge, it was insane how much garbage washed up into the Atchafalaya basin. It was gross. And depressing.

False. Utah might be the cleanest state I've ever visited.

I only throw beer cans, so I don't get an open container ticket. Besides, it helps the people that collect cans and sell em. It's like a circle and I want to do my part.

More rounds of litter abatement. Prison labor. I don't see why this should cost so much. I think I remember a year or so ago, Edwards threw like $40 million at the problem but it has resulted in absolutely nothing as far as I can tell. I remember some of their 'solutions' included more trash cans. Because, you know, trash cans on the side of the interstate or highways will do the trick...
