You can be eligible after two years of college if you have reached a certain age.

He will be 21. If a sophomore is 21 or turn 21 by the draft year cut off date (someone has said its August 1st), they are draft eligible. Bear Jones will be in that draft class too.

And Guidry. Though I assume with his lack of playing time there this year, even if he does wind up winning the SS job, he’d probably want to come back for a 2nd year of actually playing.

The way he started the season this year I fully expected him to be an everyday starter for 2 years prior to going in the draft. Really looking forward to seeing his development for next year. Sad its only going to be one more year though.

Jones’ bday is actually August 1st. So if you are born on 8/1 would you be eligible or not. Now I’m kind of curious

The signing deadline for draftees is August 1st (end of day) so players who turn 21 on or before August 1st are draft eligible.

MLB has really stupid draft rules. Nats earliest possible pick would be 7th or 10th, I can’t remember. Even with as bad as they are this year. Having said that if they’re smart they’ll draft Tommy White
