Who wants to shat on realtors with me today?

Sold house, closing on a specific day. Bought new house, couldn't make closing work on the same day, just a few days after. Sellers agent broker says no go on moving our stuff in the day we sell ours. I find out that a distant relative is friends with the seller of our new house, they set up us moving our stuff to the new place to day we close on ours.
Sellers agent finds out and talks the seller out of it. Gonna cost me $2,000 for storage and movers again.
Current fees to everyone for the sale of my house is $22,000. I'm sure the seller to us is paying out $10,000. $32,000 to these realtor rascals and all their lawyers and all I get is kicked in the bag.
Please someone tell me why this is all necessary?

The most worthless people-per-dollar-paid on the planet.
I just sold a property without a realtor and only had to pay a $525 fee to the title company that did my closing.
I’ll never use a realtor again.

Was their real estate agent a woman or a gay guy?

Business practice cooked up decades ago that made sense due to lack of information available at the time but now is completely pointless and just held together by a bunch of wealthy groups with influence in a profession that has practically no barrier to entry and no standards.
Just like dealerships this model will slowly get kicked to the curb, it's just going to take another decade of misery.

so the seller's agent is looking out for the interest of their client?

A good one is worth every cent
Of course, the complexity of the deals, the market, what you need a realtor to do, etc. all play a role in how much value you derive from the help.

You want to move into a house you don’t own? Go ahead and try to take possession of a vehicle without payment or paperwork.
What you’re asking for is extremely risky for any seller from a liability perspective

We loved our realtor. He recommended a local mortgage company that was able to get us an interest rate that was 1.5% lower than what any national lender would offer.

6% for not doing much. A good gig.

Why not counter offer back to them $1000 cash to let you store your stuff it their house for a few days? Seems like a win win

If some unforeseen event occurs and you can’t close, it’s expensive to kick someone out and move their shite.

Every agent I’ve used to sell has been worth it. Good references for service providers when needed during the sale, meeting service providers at the home when I couldn’t. Truly thankful for their service and consider the 2.5-3% I paid them well worth it.

I can't figure out if you're trying to brag about the cost of the house you're buying or trying to convince us what a cheap shite you are.

I love it when all the closet realtors come out to justify the "profession".

Did you talk to the buyers about renting back your current home for two days? It’s done all the time and much less of a headache than moving twice.

Not a realtor, I’m an IT nerd (network).
