Recommendations for weening off high sugar foods

Hey all. No matter how much I work out, my diet is ruining most of the work I put in. Looking for any tips to help reduce my sugar intake because right now it's bad.
Only thing I've really been able to do is take out soda in my diet by limiting it to only being had at restaurants (#1 weakness), and I've gone away from flavored creamers and use steamed milk in my coffee. Whenever I do use sugar in food, we use pure cane sugar, but there aren't a whole lot of things I make with that besides some coffee drinks and baked goods (generally sweets, scones, to name a few.) Eliminating ice cream is also pretty difficult. I love that stuff.
Alcohol consumption is done mostly in social settings. I'm not the type to just have a drink after a long day at the office or after yard work.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, especially in the sugar drink department.

Look for a zero calorie flavoring (mio, etc) that doesn't have a form of synthetic sugar.
..or do what I do, brew a half gallon pitcher of tea and toss it in the fridge. Add a little sweetener when your pour a glass. Stevia is best, but don't use too much because it can be overpowering.

I have a bad sweet tooth too. I like Coke Zero, so if I'm having a soda that's what I choose. Quaker makes a few flavors of rice cakes that aren't bad. I'll eat a caramel or apple cinnamon one with just a tiny bit of peanut butter. Yogurt is another thing I eat a lot...lots of low cal options that taste good and a good source of protein as well. Some fruit won't hurt either. I still allow myself things that are sugary like candy bars or baked goods, but I just watch the frequency and portion size.

I quit 10 years ago. Took about a year. About every month I'd break down and eat an entire box of fruity pebbles. Couldn't stop myself. Just know this is a process. Try to go two weeks no carbs then have a blow out meal. Stretch that out until you beat it.

Stop drinking it. Period. None.
Eating out, home, anywhere. It’s a gateway to binge. My go-to is unsweet tea with Splenda eating out and Coke Zero/Dr. Pepper Zero at home.
No more baked goods/sweets.
Don’t have it in the house. If it’s in the house it’s getting eaten.
At home you just have to play with some alternatives until you find one you like.
Sugar free candy. (green and white bags are legit)
Peanut butter.
High protein yogurt.
Shakes.
Sugar free popsicles.
Fruit.
My go-to that killed the urge for me at home is a Fairlife protein chocolate shake (30g or 42g) and a to-go Jiff peanut butter cup.
Peanut Butter and chocolate is delicious to me.
Everyone is different but I did the above and lost 42 lbs.

You just have to suffer then you get used to it, then you try that stuff and it’s disgustingly sweet and wonder how the frick you ever liked it.
Plus all that hfcs is addictive and makes you hungry.

Generally the advice I see lately focuses on always eating protein first at meals and especially eating a lot, say 50-70 grams total in the morning. This should curb hunger for sweets.
Personally, after I eat a big turkey sausage and egg burrito and drink a protein shake with it, I don’t want anything but water for hours.
Also, just stop drinking soft drinks. There are harder things in life than that.

I think that'll be my initial start. I enjoy the sugar and carbonation. I've tried Waterloos/Stevia sodas but I eventually go back to a regular Coca-Cola. I'll be making it a point of emphasis through the rest of summer to try and stay clear from all sodas.

If you can stick with Coke Zero.. cold and straight out of a can only, I guarantee in two to three weeks you won’t be able to tell a difference between that and regular.
Must be straight from the can (not into a cup)
Must be ice cold.

Think of drinking liquids as something to wash down your meal, not as something tp enjoy with your meal. Doing that, i drink mostly water, and when i want flavor, i drink a gatorade zero

This. Fountain Coke Zero or bottled tastes like arse to me for some reason. Cold can though and it’s delicious

Sugar addiction is real but after you overcome it you realize how crappy a Coke really is-like it is mainlining HFCS. But, like any addiction it takes time to overcome. Eating habits are the same, but once your palate adjusts you will look at sugar differently. Aim for 30 grams of sugar per day, 10 per meal, then can taper from there. Satiate on good fats-avocados, eggs, try tablespoon of butter in morning coffee.

We actually load up on eggs and avocados when we hit up Costco. I'm also trying to fill up early in the morning with overnight oats and the only sweetener is maple syrup, if necessary. It really is just the late night/mid day cravings that hurt.
I usually only get them when at dinner or when ordering out to eat, but I've been able to stay off it for a full week. I'd rather get those Mexican Cokes but the price point is high enough to keep me away from it.
Are you saying 30 grams (added sugar)?

Umm stop eating it?
You just have to quit. Like smoking cigarettes, you wont stop until you just stop.
HFCS is in almost everything and is highly addictive.
You will have to give up a lot of stuff because its in so much shite and try finding the ones without it.
For example i get the heinz ketchup with no hfcs added. cant even tell the difference anymore because ive been using it for years.
if i actually have normal ketchup its fricking disgusting.
So are sodas and gatorades and stuff like that.
You will eventually not like anything high in sugar.

Yes, 30 grams of sugar per day. One 12 ounce Coke has 39 grams; yogurts 15-25 g and one cup of milk 13 g and if you add it to cereal much mo suga. BBQ sauce has 15 or more grams per tbsp and Gatorade has 36 grams.
