Are the Braves completely moving away from Vaughn Grissom? I think he may be the piece to bring in and spell Arica from time to time. Especially down the stretch run of the season. I know he’s had issues defensively, and that may be what’s holding him back.

Assuming they're wanting to keep him in AAA to get more at bats. He'd be a late call up once MiLB season is over.

Agreed and I don’t think AA makes any moves ever without considering this.

He’ll pass instead of bringing in a cancer.

We don’t need Vaughn right now with this offense. He offers nothing defensively.

I think he gets packaged in a deal soon for another BP arm

If he isn't progressing defensively at short, I'm not sure he has a long term home with the team unless he can become a good left fielder or a Chris Taylor super utility type.

I also think the Braves want him playing every day right now, so I highly doubt he gets called up to spell Arcia from time to time.

I think Grissom eventually gets traded. I just hope it isn't for a rental bullpen arm because I think his bat carries a hell of a lot more trade value than that.

And also, he is a douche who actually views himself as a modern day Jackie Robinson. I know he's supposedly popular in the White Sox clubhouse, but he has been a shite stirrer who has caused some problems for them

This is why I brought up the question about him last night not being the best clubhouse guy.

If what you say is true(and I've seen this accusation about him other places) and I have no reason to doubt that it isn't, then AA won't touch him w/a 10 ft.pole.

Grissom hasn’t shown he can play SS. Unless he’s traded, I assume he’ll be on the playoff roster as a utility man.

Braves split from Liberty will be finalized on July 18th. Liberty will still be the parent but the Braves will be their own public company. Liberty said the move is to highlight the value of the Braves, some speculation is this is the first step towards cashing in for Liberty. A sell would now be pretty easy for Liberty to pull off with the Braves split off into their own company. At last valuation, Forbes had the Braves at $2.6B. The current MLB record for a sell is the $2.4B Cohen paid for the Mets.

So basically the Braves are their own entity but still under the Liberty umbrella.

Of course the thread is anchored.

Chicken really needs to reel our particular salty Muts mod in. This is getting ridiculous now.

Hmm

The Atlanta Braves — owners of the league’s top record, five straight division titles, the 2021 World Series title, and a league leader on numerous business fronts such as attendance and its influential Battery mixed-use development — is now tentatively scheduled to finalize its split from parent Liberty Media on July 18 and become Atlanta Braves Holdings Inc.

DOB-

The Braves bullpen has a 3.47 ERA that’s the best in the NL by nearly a quarter of a run, despite being without Dylan Lee for an extended period (he’ll return after break, as will Jesse Chavez at some point).

Fangraphs has the Braves tied with the Phillies at 2.2 WAR, tops in MLB.
