It would be hard not to pitch him. It would be his bullpen day, meaning he would probably be good for 40-50 pitches.

He'd come in to finish it (40-50 pitches) . Kind of ridiculous that it's 1 days rest.

Sort of. But it’s what happens when one team goes 3-0 and the other goes 3-1. They get the advantage.
Unfortunately for us we were also a day behind them.

I remember Ben McDonald coming in to strike out a last batter to seal the game like badass, after a short rest.

I could see Skenes having a closer-hero moment, if that scenario presents itself.

Yes but I’m thinking limited action (4-5 IP)

I imagine it would be like the MLB where they bring out their ace in relief on short rest in a game 7. Leave it all on the field.

I imagine everyone would be available for Monday if need be. Even if it’s for an out or 2.

Yes and if they get rain delays might get lucky enough to get a full game for him if he gets extended rest on weather delays.

Best we can hope is a 5-6 inning start.

Worst case is getting us out of a jam in an inning.

If it goes to Monday, just TRY telling Paul Skenes that he's only on three days rest and no, he's not pitching.

I think it would be up to Skenes. Let him determine how he feels. At that point, it's the end of the season. You're not saving anyone for anything other than not risk injury or if they don't think they can be effective.
