For overall great play, intensity and drama I would have to rank last night’s game just slightly behind the 1996 Warren Morris walk off game. The 5-4 11 inning game against Texas A&M in 1989 to get to the World Series would be third. The 2000 World Series clincher vs Stanford is fourth
Any other great games in LSU baseball history rank up there?

Nola vs Gray, LSU vs Oklahoma, 2013 SR opener. Won 2-0 in the bottom of the 8th on a Jacoby Jones triple. Might still be the loudest I’ve ever heard the Box get.

The two elimination games against A n him at College Station put LSU on the map. Two great games.

1) 1996 LSU vs Miami
2) 2000 LSU vs Stanford
3) 1993 LSU vs Long Beach State
4) 2023 LSU vs Wake Forest
5) 2008 LSU vs Cal Irvine

We never trailed last night. Three of the others we trailed in the 9th, and the one we didn’t we trailed with 2 outs and 2 strike in the 8th.

All were elimination games.

At wake forest (and a lot of other schools) this is probably the unanimous #1.

LSU given us so many baseball moments the important thing here is that this makes the top 5.

I mean on top of everything, you had two pitchers break big records. Almost forgot that happened.

2000 Stanford will always be my #1. That bottom of the 8th was euphoria.

Very good list.

Some others for consideration:
'17 Oregon St game2. Alex Lange brought the pain. After they beat us so badly in our first meeting we wondered if we even belonged on the field with them.

'85 State - they were the big dog in the SEC and so far ahead of everyone else. We beat 2/3 at the Box. Little did we know at that time what success lay just over the horizon.

BR regional against Southern Cal comes to my mind (complete with storm delay that brought down the outfield fence at the real Box.

Recency bias.

Even with that, it certainly ranks. An argument could be made that it is.

LSU vs Texas game 1 2009 has to be at least 3rd. It was the reason we won that championship.

It was awesome when USC would come into the box. Rich Cordani hit a huge triple in 8th IIRC

LSU vs Ole Miss 1986/1987...LSU scored like 10 runs in the 9th...

Anyone remember the specifics?
