Is Hurd available coming out of the pen today? Is Skenes?

Maybe Hurd get the final 3 innings like last WF game?
If today is Skenes bullpen day then why not let him throw an inning or 2 if we are up by 1-2 late?

Hurd threw 65 on Monday. I think best case he could come back tomorrow for an inning or two.
They aren’t going to do that to Skenes I don’t think. They’ll want to keep his pre game warm up routine and not make him rush through a warmup with the uncertainty of the pen.

Skenes will not throw on 3 days rest after 128 pitches Saturday. He will likely start tomorrow if LSU makes it to tomorrow.. Wake will throw their ace, too

Exactly. You have to save Skenes for a start tomorrow. You burn him today and you make tomorrow impossible to manage. I get it, you have to get to tomorrow, but I can't imagine a scenario where using Skenes today (in limited duty) is the thing that gets you there.

IMO, neither are available today. Not sure where things would stand for tomorrow.

I don't think skenes will go tomorrow either! Not start tomorrow anyway imo

Coleman, Herring, Money, Guidry & Collins..
Can we get around 2 innings from each?

Peterson was saying he thinks he will, that's pretty normal MLB rest period. I think, if that game happens, which is unlikely considering pitching tonight, we will see Skenes.

The only problem I see is I don’t think mlb pitchers throw 126 pitches anymore.

Hurd in a save situation, mabye.
Skenes i seriously doubt pitches today.

If we are up late, why would we waste Skenes when we would start him on Thursday?

The smart play is to pitch Skenes today if he can go (and according to the post game, he was already lobbying for it). 4 days rest is typical MLB rotation; today means he had 3 days rest, which is plenty in post season. You are no longer managing a season's worth of outings - the time is now.
Also by pitching him today, should you advance, he would be available for the championship series whereas pitching him on Thursday means the only chance he pitches in the finals is in a game 3 scenario.

This entire argument is flawed. We know the scenario to get to the championship series - beat Wake Forest 2 nights in a row. Tonight we are facing their 3rd starter who is still very good but not their ace. Tonight is a piece together situation for LSU on the mound, and hope we get good performances and a lot of runs. At no point in these next 2 games is Johnson thinking about availability for the championship series. If pitchers are available, they will pitch. Skenes is not available tonight
Say you start Skenes tonight and win, then you have to piece together a bunch of relievers vs Wake’s ace - the chances of us winning that are extremely slim. Yes, in order to play tomorrow we have to win tonight I get that. But losing tonight vs losing tomorrow is no different. Our best chance of making the championship series is going with a Johnny Wholestaff approach tonight vs Wake’s #3 guy and then Skenes vs Wakes ace tomorrow
If somehow you win those 2 then you have Floyd ready to go in the championship series

100%. No one would have imagined we were going to get out of Ack and Coop what they gave last night. They put us in "not horrific" shape for tonight relying on Money and others.
The bigger issue is our bats. Last night showed an ounce of promise, but they need to wake the frick up. As someone posted in another thread still on page 1, our pitching has been showstopping since the regionals started.
