I haven’t played since high school and don’t remember how far some people could hit it.

Can people hit it out of a softball field?

I think the cabbage ball would be destroyed if it were hit hard enough to go out of a softball field.

Physics says no. But half the OT will say they’ve done it.

You can most definitely crush a cabbage ball over a softball field fence.

Isn’t the point of a cabbage ball that you can’t hit is as far as a softball?

I’m pretty sure women can’t hit it out. But I think some men can. But I wasn’t totally sure how rare that would be

No gloves. Had a coach have part of his middle finger torn off from a line drive back to the pitcher.

It can also be played inside a gymnasium or indoor athletic building. We used to play cabbage ball inside the gym at Lakeshore playground when it was rainy.

Yes they’re big heavy and soft. They’re designed to play in gyms or smaller spaces and for fielders to not need gloves. A true cabbage ball, anyway.

In my day it was almost like a softball size with tennis ball type core
