This is the John Deere Classic.

Multiple 62s?

Harmon, Rory, and Wyndham Clark hovering around -5 at the turn?

Needs to be much harder.

Whoever set up the course for today failed.

I said Traveler’s, but yeah
It’s too soft
They’ll dry it out

Also, is what they are calling “marine layer” just smog?
Seems like marine layer would be appropriate for Torrey or pebble right on the ocean, but I don’t buy it.

Been watching this afternoon and I agree, it's kind of a clown course.

Only a couple miles from the course to the ocean. The marine layer is real

After all the hype, it’s beautiful. It’s a clear example of what the clown show that is the PGA tour and USGA.

But, but, it’s in LA!

Clowns.

There’s not enough room on the course for a us open crowd

This sumbitch won 2 US Opens and was one of,the shortest drivers on tour. Hell Azinger just mentioned the fairways are too damn wide. The only courses on the West Coast that deserve a U.S. Open are Pebble. and Torrey. The other time they tried a different West Coast course was Chambers Bay and that was a shite show.

The course will get harder, but I agree, this is not the US Open of days past. The USGA is not what it used to be. Used to be if players weren’t complaining, then they knew it wasn’t hard enough. Now, they’re so deathly afraid players will complain about it being unfair, they make it too easy.

They will enjoy the low scores this year. The next several years the USGA is gonna nail them: Pinehurst, Oakmont, Shinnecock, Winged Foot, Pebble, Merion. Times will be much tougher.

They should have gone to Riviera. This time of year that course can be made to be virtually unparable.

I went to the last one at Oakmont when DJ won. It was brutal. Planning on going to the next one there. I think these experiment courses like Chambers Bay and Erin Hills have proven that there is a finitel list of courses that can host the US Open.

Didn’t expect the rain they got and the pins were in gettable places.

You’ll see the fire in the golf course by Saturday. Supposed to be dry and comfortable the rest of the week.

Chambers Bay

Is or was one of the best courses in America. Players got all in their feelings about it. It’s made for a US Open. I hate seeing the same handful of courses over and over.

I feel like we’ve heard this about every US open recently. I’ll never forget the year we had to hear Joe Buck every 5 minutes trying to hype up the difficulty of the course.

Torrey is yawn. Olympic Club was an excellent US Open test.

Agree about Torrey. All of the par 4’s are basically the same

The boys from Bel Air and Riv are lighting up their friends at LACC about their soft arse course. That’s got to be brutal.

100% Agree with all of this. Olympic club was awesome.

So, everyone broke 80 yesterday. I get that it’s Par 70, but still
