Buy an air hammer chisel and break up the concrete and remove from the ground.
That's a lot of work even if he has a compressor with enough CFM to run an air chisel. Go to home depot and rent an electric breaker (jackhammer) a small one that doesn't have to have a cart to move it will do the job.

Tie the remaining post to the back of your Prius and yank it out. If that doesn’t work, try hitting it with your purse.

We will have to do a work study and have the in house engineering firm mark up the highest vendor's quote 350% and add 28 weeks to the timeline. Then we will collect new bids and buy the cheapest piece of shite that meets spec you will have to replace as soon as it is installed and breaks.

I just broke up a walkway with one of these, 29lb. It will work, cost about $70 for the rental. Get the pointed chisel. Hauling the concrete is also a consideration. I’ve got a truck and just took it to the dump, just over a ton. It was a lot of work but the concrete was over 6 inches and I thought it was 3-4, but it’s doable and will be hard to find someone to do a job like this, as it’s small. Maybe break yourself and call a junk hauling company.

Farm jack and chain wrapped around the post.

You simply find a saw that can cut it at home depot. No big deal. cut it as low as you can and then nip away at it with hammer and screw driver or whatever. Get it just below the surface of the concrete and cover it with a tube of concrete that you also get at home depot. Its a hour job at the most.

Oh hell- I'll do it for 700.- but you gotta approve right away.....
$800
But that’s my final offer. I’m free Thursday morning at 6:00 AM.
I’ll have a truck and crew in your driveway at about 5:45 in the morning.
I'll do it for $300 down and 12 monthly payments of $50. Work comes with a lifetime warranty and a coupon for 10% off your nest purchase. Also offer a $25 gift card for referrals...

You are going to need a few things. First is a dually truck, trailer and a mini excavator. Second is a trailer mounted air compressor and a 90 pound pneumatic hammer, and 50 feet of hose. It ought not cost more than $175K...

Current in-ground basketball goal is broken and wanting to have the goal and concrete removed.
Having trouble finding who can do that.
Here's how you figure that out:
1. Stand in front of the broken basketball goal.
2. While staring at it intently, close your eyes.
3. Slowly let your head turn downward as far as you can.
4. Slowly open your eyes.
5. Determine the owner of the feet you are seeing.
6. Contact that person and have them perform the work, or may their boyfriend.

Picture ? What kind of goal is it ? If it is a $2k-$3k version someone may buy it and fix it. If it is $500 version in concrete it is junk.

Ours broke when I was in middle school. We removed the backboard, dug away around the concrete, and strapped it to the tow hitch on my dad's SUV and pulled the post, concrete and all, out of the ground. Replaced it with a sturdier goal, that would lower/raise. Just make sure you use a good strap. A chain might break and go flying.

Let me guess, you have road side assistance because you can't change a tire.
How about replacing a ceiling fan, changing your oil, cutting grass, fixing a sink drain, building a fence, cleaning gutters. All things a person should know how to do by the time they are an adult, especially if they own a house.
Posted on 6/15/23 at 9:26 am to SippyCup
To be fair, none of those things except building a fence compare to what the OP is asking.
