Extremely sad?

I mean I wish we still had the game but I'm very happy we didn't lose Bama or Florida.

This is only the 2024 schedule. If they don’t go to a 9-game schedule with 3 permanent opponents in 2025, Bama and Florida will drop off the schedule that year. Even if they do go to the 3-6 format, one of the two will fall off.

I agree. I do not like what college football is becoming.

Not the end of the world. LSU rarely played them till the 90s.

This league is obsessed with sticking us with Arkansas and Aggy over the original SEC members and it’s very frustrating.

Overall I’m pleased with the schedule though.

A giant segment of this board was born in the 80s or 90s, so Auburn has a pretty solid spot among most hated teams/rivals. Definitely a bummer for me. But honestly who knows what other kooky scheduling stuff they’ll cook up in the next few years.

We're still going to play them every other year. Jeez, it's not like they died.

It is a great rivalry, but LSU-Bama, LSU-Ole Miss and LSU-Florida are better.

I will miss the AUB game more than FL or BAMA.....

It was a great, hard fought, series.

You're gonna smoke a turd in hell for that. Florida is my #1 hate team.

They will go to a 9 game schedule when the TV contract comes back around. Under either format 1-8 or 3-6 teams will play everyone every two years.

So it won't totally go away.

Dramatic much? You act like it’s ending forever. We will see Auburn again in 2025.

As another poster said, if losing State and Auburn for one season means keeping Florida OM and Bama then so be it.

It's unfortunate but I understand why. The other SEC teams have bigger rivals than us (Egg Bowl, Iron Bowl, Cocktail Party, TSIO, DSOR, etc) and we played SWC teams like Aggie and Rice a lot pre-expansion, even Arkansas though it had been a while by the time they joined. So when looking for teams to help the new additions get acclimated to the SEC LSU unfortunately stands out as the obvious choice especially for scheduling the last week of the season that's why we got stuck with them both times.

Ever think that maybe Auburn and State didn’t want LSU on their schedule for once?

It’s not exactly a walk in the park game. They could use a break I’m sure.
