Why does traffic suck driving through Ocala, FL?

Driving to and from Orlando, Ocala was always bumper to bumper. Any reason for this?
I haven’t been through there in years but I don’t remember traffic being that bad.

Growth and 4 billion big rigs
It does not have any type of loop so all that traffic piles up on 75. Hate it. Tampa is way worse though as is Orlando.

I can’t imagine with everybody who moved to Florida since the lockdowns.

Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded

It’s been a pain in the arse with traffic, real estate and restaurant wait times.

301 has also been known to get shitty during rush hour, in that area.

People have been moving to Florida in record numbers for years now. It’s been going on since way before 2020.

We will definitely be flying next time to Orlando. Baton Rouge to Pensacola is fine with a lot to look at in between. Pensacola to Orlando was torture lol.

It’s just the line for the Big Daddy Don Garlits drag race museum backed up onto the interstate

I don’t mind the drive going through Slidell area, Gulfport, Biloxi, Pascagoula, Mobile, and Pensacola. After Pensacola, there is nothing to see going through Tallahassee and Lake City on the way. At least going through Gainesville, I know we are getting close.

Maybe its because I have driven that route so often, but coming east from Texas/LA, its so damn boring I almost look forward to hitting the tunnel in Mobile. Almost.

Silver Springs, baw. Where else in America can you see monkeys in the cage free environment other than there, DC, Hollywood, Madison Avenue NYC, and most university faculty lounges?

I-10 between mobs pe and Pensacola can get pretty jammed up both ways. I have no idea why.

I was in Orlando last week for the first time in a few years and I don't recall I-4 being backed up in the morning, midday, the afternoon, and evening every single day a few years ago.

Lots of retirees.
Lots of them have expendable income.
Lots of them grew up in America and developed a fondness for C3 and C4 Corvettes.
Those model years are plentiful and not reliable.
Thus, they breakdown and cause a lot of traffic jams.

Anywhere on I-4, from Daytona to Tampa, is a pain in the patoot! I-4 during rush hour on a week day is nearly as bad as Atlanta.
