What part of that do you not understand? He plays Call of Duty and they sponsor him by putting items in the game with his likeness that he makes money on.

He would get a % of the in game purchase of his skin. That’s how some of esports is funded. The game publisher releases in game skins for purchase and the pro organization or pro player gets a portion of the sales.
