From what I've been told gay dudes are much more likely to take care of their parents when they are old and need help with stuff. You may need your stepson someday. If you don't want to go to the old folks home sooner and when you do go if you want someone to visit you often you may be glad for your gay stepson.

If he were my son, I would've kicked him out of the house. That's pretty light compared to what families in Saudi Arabia would do. If they find out a child is gay, they do "honor killings" to protect their reputation. As bad as that is, it's how a lot of cultures in the Middle East go about dealing with children coming out as gay

He may get his freak on but don't kid yourself, you are way too damn old to be attractive to him. Had many gay roommates (surprising how many in sports back in the age of the dinosaurs) and not one ever made a pass at me.
Gay does not mean pedo and as long as he does not go that route, just go with the flow. If you have a wife, that is priority #1 so get your head out of your own arse and be her life partner, this is a time to be the hero or the zero.
