Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams said Wednesday that he is considering getting into the governor’s race because of recent attacks by Attorney General Jeff Landry, the Republican frontrunner, against him and his city that he called “racist.”

quote:

If Williams did join the race, he would scramble the dynamics that until now have favored Wilson advancing into the runoff because he’s the only Democrat in a seven-candidate field.

quote:

Williams would not address the widespread analysis that a second Black Democrat in the race would likely end Wilson’s candidacy during the primary and would likely increase the odds of two Republicans advancing to the runoff.

The worst DA in America thinks he can enter the Governor’s race to save his own arse.

All that will do is split the Democratic vote in Louisiana guaranteeing a Landry vs. another Republican in the runoff.

Some Republican PAC on the down low should be handing out checks to ensure Williams runs in case it gets messy between Republicans again.

As if Louisiana didn't have enough problems already...

New York, Chicago, Albany, and Saint Louis have entered that chat.

Kim Gardner in Saint Louis is being removed for going to nursing school while cases back up and felons are let go. Nothing says confidence in your lawyer skills like going to nursing school. Also, if you suck at your job and you are a hardcore democrat (see: Latoya) you just fly around the world on the taxpayers' dime until Biden gives you a make-work DC job.

Kim Foxx is still under fire in Chicago for her handling of the Juicy Smellit case (I was in town that night, there was NO WAY anybody was on the street willingly at 2am. Like below zero, if not 20 below zero).

The chick in Albany couldn't even muster a criminal charge against Trump, so she came out with a civil case.

Idiots, all.

He would be running against Wilson first not Landry. I doubt the Dems allow anyone to challenge Wilson.

Probably, unfortunately.

None of the other Republicans seem to be catching any real steam, and the LAGOP already sold out and is all out recruiting for Landry.

With a bit of money and Dominion Voting Machines, Jason Williams could just squeak out a victory in the early morning hours.

Lets not forget DA Mike Schmidt in Portland or DA Gascon in LA.

All of them backed by Soros. How can this country allow a malign and evil oligarch like Soros to simply buy DA positions around the country and then destroy society? If democracy cannot effectively end subversive activity by oligarchs, the republic, democracy, rule of law is dead and we will inevitably end up w/authoritarian leader or system willing to enact a police state whether from right or left.

Acquittals are o.k., but not necessarily a requirement here for seeking public office, or for staying in office once elected.

A distinct advantage here for a candidate to have had brushes with the system - including indictments, incarcerations, and ethics violations generally.

See Dollar Bill Jefferson, Latoya, Oliver Thomas.

Thomas, an ex-con, is the present odds-on favorite for mayor who is presently working for Troy Henry at his radio station WBOK, and is Henry's advance man for the proposed project at the former 6-Flags site.

In which they don't have the finances, but hope to get public money to realize their dream.

Henry has already sent Thomas to Latoya begging her to use public money to get that project started.

Information travels fast here, such as the latest windfall for the city from Uncle Sam in the staggering amount of 388,000,000 dollars for problems resulting from Covid, or Ida, or something.

So it's not beyond the realm of possibility that some of that money could find its way to the 6-Flags site, and to the Lincoln Beach property on Haynes Blvd., one of the choicest properties anywhere that's just been sitting there for decades, which no entrepreneur with any sense has wanted to go near.

Surprised Irvin Mayfield hasn't announced also.

Or if Nagin is out of jail, him also, even Eddie Jordan.

More often than not, politicians are extensions of their constituencies.

The only thing this would do is keep the democrat from making the primary.

Got one down vote for this, but even something said in jest could have a kernel of truth in it.

Is anything out of reach electorally when just one city has proudly presented itself as the textbook example of how it's done.

By having over 70,000 illegitimate names on its rolls, which its incompetent, smug, entitled Registrar has refused to purge; which, of course, are only applicable to votes cast in this parish.

But then we hear from cyber-security experts Dr. Russ and Scanlon that similar problems have been found in Ascension Parish and in Terrebonne, as they continue to move northward in their investigations.

Really believe that only 3 parishes are the extent of it?

Then all those "paranoiacs" who have the gall to question what's been going on nationally.
