I am so pleased there are finally a few representatives with a backbone. The proposed deal is absolute horse shite. If the government can't find a way to reduce spending, they don't deserve to exist.

I hope he can get a handful of others on board to blow this bullshite deal up and expose McCarthy for what we all figured he was from the beginning.
HOLD THE LINE Mr. Roy!!!
You are one of the few Patriots we have left.

If he can get MTG, Gaetz, and Boebert to join him, that will be enough if my math is correct?

Chip Roy is the same guy who caved and voted for swamp Kevin McCarthy as speaker after helping lead the charge against him.

There had better be a lot more than that standing tall, otherwise it will be hung around their necks next year.

Grifting at its finest.

Congress has already made the decision on what they are going to pass. It’s all political theatre at this point.

Aside, that Lady named Jewell just performed a beautiful rendition of our Anthem at Indy.

Yep. Folded like a bitch after he got what he wanted. Just as much swamp as the rest of them.

He was one of the last politicians standing when 99% of the others wouldn’t speak out.
To crucify him for not being the singular holdout is a tad unfair.
Roy is a good egg.

I don’t think you understand how voting for House speaker works

I thought for the Freedom Caucus it was no McCarthy under no circumstances?

Doesn't matter now though. Here we are. They all suck.

not exactly.
212 democrats can come up with 100 votes for the current version.
there's 60+ voting with the progressive caucus.
30 or 40 black caucus.
so 100+ more moderate available for this.

How about a budget that reduces spending and balances the budget in 10 years and zero deficit spending thereafter.

The time to hold the line was on the McCarthy vote.

This debt thing is all a big public scare tactic....

If we actually did default a few payments....what will really happen?

Did this group hold the line in 2017, 2018 & 2019 when there was deficit spending and trillions added to the National Debt?

While the deal make suck, it is a LOT better than anybody would have thought McCarthy would have gotten.

NOTE: 2018 & 2019 were Trump years.

"is consistent with the structure of budget deals struck in ... 2018 and 2019 which simultaneously raised the debt limit."

"According to a GOP one-pager on the deal, it includes a rollback of non-defense discretionary spending to FY2022 levels, while capping topline federal spending to 1% annual growth for six years."

"The agreement increases the age for which food stamp recipients must seek work to be eligible, from 49 to 54, but also includes reforms to expand who is eligible."

"Claws back "tens of billions" in unspent COVID-19 funds"

"Cuts IRS funding 'without nixing the full $80 billion' approved last year. According to the GOP, the deal will nix the total FY23 staffing funding request for new IRS agents.""

"The deal includes energy permitting reform demanded by Republicans and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV)"

"No new taxes, according to McCarthy".

... These are a victories when you are not in charge of WH & Senate.
