SEC Tourney is Meaningless To LSU This Year

Top 8 seed already clinched regardless of outcome in Hoover. Hopefully we drop 2 competitive games and get back to BR to rest and work on fundamentals before the real post season starts at the box next week.

biggest thing I want to see is Crews start heating up

Would anyone be too upset if we sat Dugas in the hopes that he heals up a little bit?

Crews and Dugas need to deliver. Or let White bat 9 times with ghost runners.

I wouldn’t be upset if he or Milazzo rested
Going to need both if we make a run

I know what you mean that the rest is important, past 0-2 SEC Tourney teams fared well in post season.
That said, I don't think losing a game 2 with either Skenes or Floyd on the mound would do a lot for our confidence. Yes, so winning it is not critical, but cleaning up our defense, getting our pitchers to execute their pitches and throw strikes, and improving our approach at the plate in the games we do play will be a great step in the right direction.

Mississippi State won the natty after getting run ruled twice in Hoover. It's meaningless /thread

Ole Miss won the Natty after losing the first game and was eliminated. Then barely got into the NCAA regionals. So means nada...

It would have been hard to find a hydraulic press that could mash concession stand coke cups like my pre-teen hands could.

I’m going Wednesday till. Personally rather they split first 2 lose Friday head back.

I mean, I like winning championships. I like accumulating stats. Most of all I like watching LSU baseball.
I think the players agree with all of that.

If they drop two consecutive games a top 8 is no longer guaranteed.

He has a torn rotator cuff. That’s not healing in a week.

Who determines "meaningless"? Doesn't their membership in the SEC imply the affirmation of the tournament and its importance by default? Do they have the power to arbitrarily turn on/off the relevance (meaning) of the tournament from year to year? There is no "portal" to opt out of the tournament, and it sends a message that your team - like all the others - doesn't poop vanilla ice cream, has to earn its stripes just like everybody else, and has to pay their appreciation dues back to the Conference.
It's a lesson in humility and sportsmanship to subrogate yourself to the Conference that you benefit from. If you are as good as you claim, then prove it by beating all the other Conference teams - at the same venue - in the same time span. Deal with it.

Not at all. I would sit him just like they did Doughty last year.
