The cheap daily shuttle from Nola to Cancun is worth dealing with the yellow plane.

Man. This $150-200 rt to Cancun fight has been amazing.
After going to Cancun for first time in March and discovering Isla Mujeres (Go there!! See image) I've been back twice.
It's $200. Man the first time I stayed expensive. The second time i airbnb the third time I stayed in a house in town for $40 a night.
The people are amazing and the food is so good.
Cancun I didn't really like buy Isla is paradise and I'm 100% going to build a house there. Thinking about renting one now and going monthly
Next month I'm going to check out a place called Holbox which the locals tell me is better than Isla with less tourists.
If you want a CHEAP beach vacation for less than 30A with better water and quicker travel time.
Hop on that yellow plane.

If you pay for the big Front Seat and know what you're getting into it's not that bad

More details...
Following.
Also, I've looked into Holbox and the negatives I think was the travel/transport from airport north to Holbox is a nightmare sometimes?
Regardless...
Safety level? Always hear about some bad situations down there.

We just did 5 nights at an airbnb in Puerto Morelos. Have been up and down the riviera maya area about 8 times, but usually in resorts and have done day trips to Isla Mujeres.
Hands down, Puerto Morelos has the best selection of restaurants I've ever seen in a an end-to-end walkable town. The food was absolutely amazing. We stuck to the port side of town, but word is food is just as good and even cheaper in the colonia side close to the highway. It has about 4 beach clubs all reasonably priced on food and cocktails with no charge for palapa and loungers. It also has some of the best and cheapest snorkeling anywhere on the coast. The locals are the friendliest folks and we felt very safe for the whole trip.
If you haven't put PM on your list to visit, I highly suggest doing so.

Not at all. It's a 2 hour ride from the airport to the ferry and then a short ferry ride. Just have your driver stop at a store and get some beers for the ride.

Any Adults Only all inclusives in the area that you would recommend? Looking online it looks like Breathless Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa looks real nice

Southwest also has nonstop weekly flights.

I may check out holbox next. Mujeres is very safe. Safer than many us cities. Police everywhere.

I stopped there going for a Cenote tour. I'm going back next month and will have a car and more time.
I also really liked Vallodolid. Bought a ton of nice clothes.
But I think Isla Mujeres is still my favorite spot overall. Though I haven't been to Tulum yet either.

Oh yeah. I'm just cheap af.
$150 rt
$50 a day airbnb
$3 breakfast
$5 lunch
$10 dinner
The golf cart and buying shite were my big expenses.
I got me a chair on north beach and laid for 7 hours just looking out into paradise.
I looked at a wonderful three level home for sale there for $250k.
I could live there. And rent the bottom floor out to pay my mortgage

Ixchel Beach Hotel
My wife and I are partial to Hotel Secreto which is just around the point to the east but the water there is no bueno to swim in. Too rough. Playa Norte is a 2 minute walk around the point from Hotel Secreto.

I sent to 2 ppl today and they both came back with "seems sketch".... or that they didn't want to put forth the effort to stay down there...

Then they’re the ones missing out because there’s not a damned thing sketchy about Mujeres, Holbox or the hotels recommended. Their loss.
