Chad Jones 2009

CPM was just on Ranaudo's show and made a great point about Chad Jones not getting his first pitching appearance until the second to last weekend of the regular season in 2009. Granted, the circumstances were clearly different since he had spring football and missed a lot of the year...
Regardless, is there anyone on this roster that could be the hero in relief for us down the stretch?
Also, how we can pitch double digit guys out of the bullpen while Blake Money rides pine is beyond me. I'm not saying the guy deserved to be pitching on Fridays, but how can you go from being our Friday guy to not even getting used out of the pen in one year?

Money has been pitching.

Javon Coleman has looked pretty solid so far, if he can continue to progress the next few weeks I think he can give us some strong innings even if it’s just 3-5 a weekend

Jesus christ.
Do you watch baseball? You'd have your answer. Money is simply not good. He never has been at LSU. He unfortunately never really developed beyond what you got. He'll throw you strikes and he has good stamina, but the fact he was starting tells you the state of the bullpen then. We didn't have anyone else.
Money's stuff will get shelled. It's inevitable and not much you can do about it. He throws flat fastballs and teams will sit on it. He's an option in larger ballparks because it's more likely when his stuff gets tagged it's going to go to someone. You just reinforce him with your best defense in the outfield. He'd be somewhat viable in Omaha I think.
If I'm being honest though, that's a pretty scary thought even in a big ballpark like Omaha against the cream of the crop in the country. They'd probably be licking their lips if he was starting.

The buzz in the stadium every time he took the mound was palpable.

I believe Blake Money is going to be that guy. If you ever stay after a game, Blake Money signs everything, talks to every fan, takes every picture. He’s been through tough spots and still shows up to fight. He’s the guy that you pull for to taste the “Glory” that’s eluded him on the field. He’s in shape. He’s worked hard. He has the guts and the “Battle Scars” to help take this team to the last game. I hope he gets his chance. He’s earned it.

Money has been pitching when he wasn't pitching was due to his Forearm/tricep soreness. He was just pulled relatively early on Sunday.

I was there and remember it like yesterday. I also seem to recall that he didn’t throw any or very very few pitches that wasn’t a FB.
