When was the last time America fought for a righteous cause?

WWII?
I honestly don’t know. I used to believe Iraq and Afghanistan were, but no longer. Gulf? Korea? Vietnam?
To what degree does it delegitimize us as a country that purports to be a force for moral good?

Very few wars are completely “just” but for the attack on Pearl Harbor and the concentration camps alone, we fought a just war.
Since then, I’m afraid to say, probably none.

Here's the thing that gets me. The Soviet Union invaded Poland at the same time as Nazi Germany. But Britain and France only declared war on Germany. If the reason for WW2 was protecting countries from unprovoked invasion, why not declare war on the Soviet Union as well?

Fighting Communism is righteous, what does that say about VN?

I'm willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause
And I'll fight for the righteous brothers
And I'll fight for the righteous brothers

Why were Korea and Vietnam not "just"? I think we went into Vietnam without an end game or exit strategy, but I believe we went in for noble reasons.

That was a false flag, imo. The bad guys ultimately also won in ww2. WW1 is the answer, at least I think.
Was Hitler a greater evil individual that should have been brought to heel than any one else in ww2? Sure. There was no hope for Nazi-ism to spread in the long run.
But what DID spread? Who DID win ww2?

The Soviets were worse than the Nazis.

Hell, who knows? A long time for sure.

1812 was the last legitimate war that comes to mind. WW2 is questionable the more I learn, because of the way we allied with the Soviets and Chinese.

According to you. Who are you to tell someone they can’t be communist? VN was definitely not righteous IMO. It was fought under the guise of a moral panic.

Because you’re forcing the two most dangerous regimes in the world to become allies.

Edit: And China wasn't a threat until Clinton gave them the keys to challenge us.

Their body count combined was a fraction of just Stalin or Mao.
