This is the perfect moment for the NBA to collectively come out and call for their intended base (black america) to stop the cultural practice of glorifying the thug gun life.

But they won’t. They’ll pretend like it’s just a Ja Morant issue…and not the most serious issue in America as we know it.

I think Davis Stern would have done something but I doubt Adam Silver will. NBA is harsher when you criticize China.

Who else in the NBA is making it an issue…?

If the answer is nobody, then why should the NBA project Ja’s behavior on the rest of black America?

Within the NBA, this seems to be the case.

It’s one of the most serious issues, but Adam Silver saying something would potentially alienate players and fans, and nobody in an elected position would back him up. It would be career suicide for Silver to say something about that.

Why the frick would they do that lol. At least they have a profit motive for the shameless pandering they do now. This has all the pandering but none of the payoff

I cannot for the life of me understand why having a good upbringing with a loving family is a bad thing

Ja Morant is going to throw away generational wealth because he wants to look hard on social media

the msb: the NBA needs to shut up and dribble

also the msb: This is the perfect moment for the NBA to collectively come out and call for their intended base (black america) to stop the cultural practice of glorifying the thug gun life.

I don’t think it’s just Black America that glorifies the the gun life. It’s an American issue. I’ll leave it at that because this is not the Poli Board.

Stopped here, you obviously haven't been to a NBA game or undertand the demographics of the average NBA fan, or maybe you are mistaking the NBA for the old AND1 league.

I've heard a few people mention as much this morning on ESPN. I really wanted to hear what they had to said about the Ja Morant situation. I really just don't understand it. He's literally his own worst enemey

I disagree. They should discipline Ja Morant as necessary. But we don't need them trying to make political statements for things irrelevant to their actual product.

That's the issue now with companies trying to champion different social messages.

I agree with the sentiment, but that would be Bud Light level brand suicide.

Maybe worse.
