Tanks needs protection or there will be a lot more IBBs in the future. Sit Beloso and Jones; both can be used as PHs situationally as matchups dictate. Milazzo the everyday catcher as we need his defense and his proven bat too (if/when Neal ever gets back and isn’t rusty he can give us more options, but I haven’t heard anything on his progress so I’m not hopeful). If something happened to Milazzo while Travinski was DH, Skenes could catch and probably even Morgan; not ideal but you have to push your best chips in now. Outfield: Crews, Jobert, Kling (I say give him one more shot as he has the most breakout game changing potential)/Pearson (he’s not a defensive liability and at least has good plate discipline and draws a lot of walks). Naturally, move Morgan back to 1B.

Thoughts?

Under no circumstances does the top pick (maybe), a pitcher, in the draft, a month away, get put behind the plate. NONE!

The rest, whatever at this point. Can any of them throw strikes?

Frey or jones catching would be a better alternative than skenes

We put up 13 runs and you think the lineup needs to change?

I do know two things. You don’t take out two of your best hitters that can walk it off in a heartbeat in a say tied 13 to 13 tie ballgame in the 8th inning. You also don’t bunt on an obvious 4th ball.

We were outscored 10-0 in the last 5 innings so yes we need more runs with this shite pen. It’s not like they scored a lot of runs yesterday either.

Travinski starts at catcher going forward and Milazzo is used for defense when needed. Beloso’s bat has produced so, he stays in the lineup at DH or 1B.

Travinski could DH when Beloso plays the field.

I still can't see how Milazzo's defense trumps Travinski's hitting/scoring threat - despite Milazzo's improved batting average this year. Just doesn't add up....

I would be okay with Jones never batting again or playing first base. He's an automatic strikeout at the plate and his defense at 1st base comes nowhere near what Morgan can do there. I was truly baffled why he was put in the game with so much on the line

No way in hell we risk injury to our only good pitcher by putting him in the field.

I'd ride with Travinski from here on out. He is plenty of a good enough catchers that his offense will override any defensive miscues. And he's a way above average defensive catcher.

I know Beloso is a fan favorite because he’s a senior and has been loyal to LSU…….BUT

He’s 3 for his last 29 in conference play. He should not be DH. It’s a crap shoot between Jones and Beloso. Jones is actually getting on base at a higher clip, but he’s also striking out a ton. Beloso doesn’t K much, but he’s not producing either, and he’s a huge DP risk.

If Travinski isn’t catching, he’s got to be the DH. If he’s catching I’d rather Pearson or Kling in RF and Jobert DH.

Travinski needs to be the catcher. this is fairly obvious.
He's got the hottest bat on the team after Mr. Tanks.

Milazzo has 69 at bats this year (30 more than Travinski), and has 1 extra base hit all year. These ground balls he's hitting that are finding holes aren't going to keep finding holes. Yes his average is up, and good for him, but i'd bet no one felt confident he was going to get a hit yesterday with the bases loaded after they walked Crews/White.

Travinksi has ZERO errors on the year.
Milazzo has 2 errors on the year.

Travinski is 3-7 on throwing people out stealing.
Milazzo is 4-14 on throwing people out stealing.

Travinski has allowed 2 pass balls this year.
Milazzo has allowed 1 pass ball this year.

Again, it's obvious that Travinksi should be the everyday catcher.

DH White. He's an absolute liability in the field. And bench Cerrano.

The problem is not scoring, its keeping people from scoring.
