After being on TD/scoreboard during the Troy game, I have decided to essetially stay away from this site more, (I am sure there are those celebrating this right now...) because the negativity and esp. the bashing of players (esp. Jarrett) just started making me sick to my stomach. But I do want to post and support this thread.
What many people don't appear to realize is that a significant percentage of the posters on here feel empowered by the anonymity a message board provides to say things they wouldn't have the balls to say face-to-face, and to pretend to a level of intelligence and knowledge that they may never achieve in real life. Giving credence to what they say is completely irrational.

that and a lot of these posters are kids that don't know a single thing about football or LSU.

I have reached basically the same conclusion...and I went to Bama. I'm not sure if I wouldn't have just walked off the field and left them screaming after getting the lead. Guess it's still about character.

The coach, and the team still have it. It's your move Tiger Nation.

well put Baloo. well put.
I admire his heart and guts. Very mature for his age.
I'll never forget what Jamie Howard went through at LSU and remember that being so unfair to a college guy, and to see JL rise above all the negativity from fans who are more worried about their gameday buzz than the players, says so much about his character.
I'm behind you JL!

I think you nailed it. it reminds me of Jamie Howard, who was a pretty good player, and probably one of our best players under Hallman. Yet he gets mericlessly ripped to this day for the Interception Game. Hell, it wasn't like he called those pass plays. And I remember how the coaching staff hung him out to dry as well.
I have a soft spot for Jamie Howard as well. He gets a bum rap.

And I don't think a lot of people realize that other fan bases (from schools we compete with on the field and in recruiting circles) read this negative, hatin' crap and catch bits of it on LA radio, and run with it!
B'ham sports talk radio, both AM and FM shows are all having a lot to say about how LSU fans are bashing their coach, booing their players and stampeding out of the stadium mid-game. I think recruits, no matter how much they expect to succeed in CFB still want to know deep down that they won't be hung out if they fall on hard times on the field, either. Bama-tards are know for all their sunshine blowing, but given the two extremes, I think they do their program less harm that the "hatas" do for LSU... It's not just bad behavior for these people, it sheds a very bad light for all in the P&G....

I agree. Lee has hung tough.

What's so hard to get about this. Just throw the damn ball out of bounds if you don't have an open receiver. Anyone would accept that, and just take the incompletion and move on to the next play. It's when the kid keeps doing the same dumb thing over and over that is getting everyone angry enough to boo. If he wants to stop the boos, stop doing the dumb things every week.
So that's how you did it when you were quarterback?

Seriously, Baloo. I think this was the post of the year.

I am behind Lee, and still stand by my assertion that he will be an All-SEC caliber QB before his time is up at LSU. He made much better decisions with the ball against Troy when he got his confidence back and receivers started making plays.
This has been a rough growing period for him, but he has the moxie to come out of this a much better player. I am behind the kid 100%.

Josh Booty is the guy I would compare him to as a past player. Lee has plenty of time to get better though.

Actually Florida went 9-4 last season.

This is a bigger insult than every boo Lee's ever received, put together.

Big arm
lots of interceptions
maybe a little too confident if that is possible
Personally I think Josh could have been better then both Brock Berlin and John David, had things been different for him. Obviously off field personality is not being taken into consideration here.

+1 = Absolutely the best post of the year. Booing should be unacceptable no matter what the situation. Fans should just leave or shut up. I know I myself have been hard on Lee with all the picks and his mechanics sometimes baffles me. I also get very frustrated with a team (especially the defense) which I feel has underperformed and coaches that appear to be lacking in game preparation. But, Lee's tenacity has been inspiring. Thanks Baloo!

Simply incredible post Baloo. I agree with you 10000%. Lee is a competitor, and he has got some big time guts. Just because his demeanor may not look like a tough guy (he isn't running around yelling and fistpumping), doesn't necessarily mean he isn't tough. Lee has been under harsh pressure and he has been down the bumpy road, but he'll be better in the end for it.
I have a lot of respect for #12, and I'm proud of him.

Seriously - Y'all make us look like Philadelphia fans. I can't wait to see it next year when one of the talking heads talks about Tiger Stadium used to be one of the most fearful places to play, and see 200 threads about how ESPN hates us.
Plus you don't think it fires up the other team when we are booing our own players and people start leaving the stadium?
I am gonna yell my arse off on Saturday for my tigahs, especially the seniors who have given me 4 unforgettable years. Who's with me!?!?!?!
