Interesting to see that he is living rent-free in your head. 
He’s explained that when the original animated version came out, he was 19 years old and in prison. Not exactly the demographic who’s running out to see a Disney mermaid movie. So it should come as no surprise that he has no interest in this movie. Other than the general demise of woke Disney overall.
Why do you even care though? This movie is objectively getting pounded in the reviews, so why focus on the one guy who doesn’t make a video about it?

I'm guessing this will end up being close to correct, but on 5/14 this is a very dumb statement. The review embargo doesn't lift until later this week, and most review screenings haven't happened yet.
And most of the "early reactions" from the fan screenings are positive, which is always the case from those meaningless fan screenings.
So, yeah. The only "pounding" has been from YouTube dudes who haven't seen the movie yet.
