Darn Tough socks

I finally purchased some Darn Tough socks and put them in my rotation. I wear wool socks every day unless I have flip flops on.
Initial take is I really like them. They feel great. Probably better than Smartwool when brand new but I’ll have to see in a few years how they hold up. I have some Smartwool socks that are 14 years old and still going strong. Considering the price they better feel good.
I’m planning on buying a few lighter pairs of socks to see how they feel so I can give an all around review.
I do think Smartwool offers better patterns overall but that’s not a big deal.
I know, riveting thread but I’m bored.

I have several pair of the heavy ones I use for hunting. The over the calf ones are great with my lacrosse boots. I love them. Hope they hold up as advertised.

I never thought I would brag about paying 30$ for a pair of socks but after wearing them in 17deg weather I would pay 50$ for another pair if I lost the ones I have.

all I wear now
20/pair is steep but they last forever and are so comfortable

I haven’t gone in depth into their prices for different styles but I paid 17 for 1 pair and 24 for 2 other pairs.

I’m definitely willing to pay for quality if I know I get my moneys worth.
Wigwam isn’t in the conversation but I have 2 pair of heavies that were 15 bucks and are 13 years old. Good socks but there’s an obvious difference.

the smart wool socks I have that are of similar age are all stretched and deformed. Darn tough still look new
micro crew midweight hiking socks are my go to. They are hardly ever on sale so I just buy a couple new pairs a year

I tell everyone who will listen about them. I have the heavy weight hikers for the elk mountains and the light weights for everyday wear. Gear at keeping my feet dry, even in sweaty boots.
I almost want them to fail so I can finally use their lifetime warranty and get a new pair. My oldest pair is going in 5 years and are still in perfect shape.

I wear the midseight hikers daily to work and work out in them. I have 3 pairs in rotation and last me about 2 years before holes get in the bottom. Darn tough will replace them under warranty for that but I feel kind of guilty doing it. They're great socks.
I have a few pairs of the hunting socks and they're awesome as well. They don't stretch. They will get holes if you lace your boots too tight on them.

I have a pair of Darn Tough and can attest that they are a quality pair of socks but I find the pair I purchased fit too tight to the point of being uncomfortable. Perhaps I should have bought the next size up.
I wear wool socks daily as well and have tried several brands through the years and my favorites have been Lorpen. Their ultra light hiking socks are great and I have put many miles on them
Lol…I know that I am slowly turning into my father when I have strong opinions and comments on the finer qualities of wool socks

I have a bunch of darn tough Vermonts and I really like them. I also have probably more pairs of farm to feets, and I am equally as happy with those, I haven’t found a heavy sock I like more than their cedar falls.

I have a half dozen pairs and wear them every day, have for years.
Great socks.
Something about starting your day in comfortable socks and underwear helps to get off to a good start.

I have about 4 different brands of wool socks and like them all. I have a european one that is probably my least favorite, but the darn tough and smartwool are hard to beat. I have pretty much thrown out all of my other socks.

Another decent brand is from sockguy. I really like their thin wool/hybrid version from wolftooth components for 13$ a pair.

I've been wearing darn tough socks for about 7 years now. The only time I've had a pair need the warranty was when I snagged a pair rockclimbing. They were super fast in replacing them. To me they are way better than my farm to feet or wigwam.

I have a pair of boots that are slightly too large. The darn tough socks fix that problem and they are comfortable as hell.

I buy from here when on sale, just got the sale email yesterday and wanted to pass on to everyone.

Camofire has a few different Darn Tough options today. Cheaper than the Darn Tough site but not sure what Camofire would hit you with for shipping.
