WBRZ article

quote:

BATON ROUGE- Some community leaders call Marvin Payne a positive influence in Baton Rouge, but on Tuesday afternoon he turned himself in to the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail for an active warrant on drug charges.

Arrest documents from 2021 say Payne was a leader of a gang called "5400 Boys." It says Payne was accused of distributing heroin, cocaine and other illegal substances.

An indictment from February 2022 says Payne was involved in the second-degree murder of Jordan Jenkins.

The head of the local NAACP, Eugene Collins, said Payne has been a community leader, even winning the Presidents Award from the organization.

“I chose to give him that award, fully knowing all of that," Eugene Collins said. "Not only do I not regret giving him that award, I look forward to the day he is released, so we can do more good work, and maybe give him another one," Collins added.

Just another reason BR stays in the shape it is in.

If that’s not the most glaring example of the NAACP’s true priorities…

Does it read like a Babylon Bee article? Because I thought maybe it was for a second.

Not a defense. But racial/ethic organizations have for years defended those in their community that hold sway in organized crime ..look to the mob throughput the northeast..

That’s what many of these “ gangs” set to become and why it’s imperative to apply pressure to those giving them cover just bc they throw a few bucks at a non profit

Payne's arrest report says he is accused of having two cooking containers coated with fentanyl residue, and a kitchen cabinet coated with both cocaine and fentanyl residue.
If that's all they have, that's weak AF.

Just ignore the murder part.

Did that black life not matter?

It is OK. You don't have to answer. We already know it didn't.

Da under served community? Sounds legit. I’d say more but I don’t want Marvin to send his cousin Orenthal to shank me while I’m doing garden work .

Typical Progressive MO. This is what they do. They flaunt their stupidity in your face. You have no idea how proud of themselves they are.

The more vile and ignorant, the more credibility they get in Progressive circles.
