Cliffs:

- Twitter is the only free speech outlet left

- But even with Twitter, the conversation is still controlled by corporate media which creates/gatekeeps the stories discussed on Twitter

- Tucker teaming up with Twitter/Elon (or so it sounds) to try to combat that

I don't know how this will work in practice, but I think many on this board and elsewhere thought something with Elon was the only way to really take full advantage of how big Tucker's brand/reach is.

I wonder if his contract allows him to tweet freely, so he's doing his show on Twitter to get around FNC keeping him sidelined until 2025.

Good move by Twitter / Elon. That will bring a ton of clicks.

It's probably wishful thinking, but making Twitter into a full blown free speech news platform would be terrifying for so many media/corporate interests in this country.

Even if short lived, it's something to watch.

This excites me for a couple reasons.

Although I wasn't an avid watcher, it's good to see Tucker getting back at it. That said, what excites me even more is I think this is the future of media. If this goes through, Tucker will give a huge legitimacy to that.

People are tired of 24 hour news networks and other news networks that don't tell the truth. The antidote to that, in my opinion, is exactly what Tucker is doing. I think we're on the verge (I think it started a couple years ago) of an independent media boom.

I know that's not breaking news for a lot is us on here who find news other ways, but that's not the case for most of America, IMO.

Elon wasn't allowing YT, substack links. He is trying to build a YT within Twitter.

I can see him offering Tucker big bucks and getting it uncensored.

The sponsors are key. My Pillow can be a start. Frick all the other sponsors that dumped Tucker.

Now that's impressive. I imagine he has some preliminary things showing the money he can make, but still. $25 mil is hard to turn down. That tells me his head, but more importantly - his heart, is in the right place.

I'm not sure if Twitter would do anything to stop MyPillow from advertising but if Mike Lindell is suddenly all over Twitter then I think it's going to kill the concept and just mimic Fox News/conservative media.

Ideally, Elon would bankroll these moves with other means to avoid that, at least initially. I also wonder if he'll seek out others, perhaps from a less traditionally conservative background, to join.

Glenn Greenwald comes to mind. Or the former RS writer I can't recall right now.

I'm still concerned about the back channels that the DHS, FBI and CIA have in Twitter. Instead of Lachlan Murdoch muzzling Tucker it's going to be one of these federal government employees or federal government contractors for one of these three letter agencies muzzling Tucker.

This is the one collaboration that I thought could really blow up and change the news game. I love Rumble, but boomers aren't going to look for him there. But, the easy access on Twitter will blow away Fox numbers.
